Well, you're citing "family friends," when I have met the man many times. Other people here also have had positive personal experiences with Mr. Richardson. But, go ahead ... use your second-hand "friends" sources.

I know, personally, Mr. Richardson to be a very warm, personable and generous man. There are more stories than the Olsen one or the one of his attending a PSL owner's funeral. Stories you'll never hear or read about in the media.

People on this board have said numerous times that, before his health went bad, he came out to talk to fans at tailgates plenty of times and was very friendly and approachable.

Honestly, this guy sounds like a nobody trying to get attention to his blog.

He was out at the Huddle tailgate a couple times. I tried to get him to do a shot of Sambuca with me but no luck. He was however more than happy to sign my Miller Lite visor that they were giving away that day. That's about all I have to add to this conversation.

Many of Jerry's contemporaries are family friends of ours from when my folks lived in downtown Spartanburg in the early 70's and they will almost all tell you one thing about Jerry Richardson: He is a horrid human being that made his fortune off of his partner's hard work and smarts. I don't know of anybody that has nice things to say about him from the old neighborhood.

 

I know some of his family actually and can corroborate that these comments are probably true.

The article is a smear piece. Much of the article is factually true.

 

You could also write a pretty good positive piece on the guy.

 

I like Jerry when he he isn't in the news. Did not like seeing him during the CBA and coach hiring process but its all good now.
