I don't get the people that blame JR for wins and losses. He has some influence but not that much. That 2010 season was a disaster but who did we cut that could have really helped us? Maybe Chris Harris. That team had a similar core to what we have now with one very important difference: Jimmy Clausen. Marty Hurney drafted Jimmy Clausen. I really don't put weight in the idea that JR is holding this franchise back from a wins/loss perspective.

Most of the "great" franchises are "great" because of circumstances. The Pats will drop back down to mediocrity when Brady and Bellichik are gone. The Cowboys fell apart shortly after Jimmy Johnson left. The 49ers were downtrodden for years, they hired the right coach and they are back for now. The Ravens had a good run with some hall of fame defenders but that could be coming to an end. Everyone's concept of what makes a great organization is based on the life span of hall of fame coaches or players. Even the Cardinals could compete for a Super Bowl with a few Hall of Fame caliber players on offense. There is nothing fundamentally better about the franchises that have been winning for the past 10 years. They just hit on players and coaches and are reaping the rewards. Look at all the coaches that have come out of the Bellechik tree.....they go elsewhere and lose because Bellechik is the brains.

people have a need to feel connected to someone famous. I lived in kannapolis in 2001 when dale earnhardt died. everyone had their stories about they were great friends with dale at some point or another. apparently 90% of kannapolis females turned him down for the prom, even when they would have been like 7 years old when he was in high school.

Owning a local food company and having played professional football for a few years doesn't exactly make you the Beatles.

I'd be willing to bet that unless you're a Panthers fan or have lived in Charlotte since we've had the Panthers; you'd have no clue that Mr.Richardson played in the NFL. Not to mention he made his money in business and not playing in the NFL.

This state has had George Shinn (enough said), MJ (an egomaniac to say the least), Don Beaver who tried to bring MLB here and fleeced the city for BB&T Park (hated by many who know) and, maybe the most hated (if not here, Hartford at least), Peter Karmanos.

JR is by far the best of that lot! I also truly don't buy he's worse than any current NFL owner in the azzhole department.

People on this board have said numerous times that, before his health went bad, he came out to talk to fans at tailgates plenty of times and was very friendly and approachable.

Honestly, this guy sounds like a nobody trying to get attention to his blog.

Cause if there's anything life has taught me, it's that people are true to the face they show their paying customers.

You make it sound like its a real accomplishment to go out and talk to your customers

It's something a lot of guys in his position wouldn't do.

But then I'm sure you can find a way to spin what he did for Greg Olsen and his attending the funeral of a fan he never even met as proof he's evil too

Cause if there's anything life has taught me, it's that people are true to the face they show their paying customers.

But a random internet guy who claims to know people is a reliable source, right?
