Rivera Forbids Players From Talking About MNF

Tampa is a trap game. Atlanta to close the season is a trap. Next week is a legit opponent

I agree they are legit.  I consider it a trap more from the emotional letdown aspect rather than the overlooking opponent one.  The short week does not help.

But Colin intercepted that Kuechly PI too. So it doesn't matter. The ball was close enough for the odds of the catch being altered by Kuechly were pretty high. I personally think Stevie flopped on the play and the ball was clearly overthrown.

I forgot that Colin did pick the ball. I guess it comes down to being at home. That's the way it goes. I would prefer it to not come down to that, though. Granted, it's the Patriots, but it has been a trend in Rivera's tenure here.

That last Patriots drive came down to execution. Gronk beat Kuechly by faking in when he went out and up and there was no inside help on fourth down.

Well, he better be talking about it with his defensive coordinators.  The Patriots, while initially getting blasted by our front line, marched the damn field on our soft, don't-let-it-get-behind-you defense.

That last drive was the EXACT set of circumstances that happened in Buffalo.  Soft defense.  PI by Kuechly.  Difference?  Home field and Robert Lester.  We were killed with it in one game, got lucky in the other.  With such a dominant game being played, I would like to see our defensive play calling improve when the other team has the ball to try and win it.

Really in both contests it was injuries in key positions and a failure of their replacements to fill it without a big drop-off.   Whether the secondary in the Buffalo game or Charles Johnson on Sunday, the rest of the guys couldn't shut the other team's offense down.

It comes down to finding a replacement for Johnson who could sit this one out. The key to our defense will always be defensive pressure.

My 12 year old son brought up the MNF game at the dinner table.  I slapped his fork out of his hand and had him against the wall before I knew what I was doing.

He then proceeded to knee me in the nuts, let me down gently, slapped my face twice and said, "Whooooo!" before going down the hall to get on the PS4 I bought him.

Ain't life grand?!
