that's funny, but messing with wiki entries in general is a douche move. open-source info centers are fundamentally dangerous enough as it is, but altering info on the most heavily-referenced one in the world is incredibly irresponsible

 

gosh i hope some shitty future college dropout doesn't plagiarize it when he copypastas his thesis on talib

 

that would just be a tragedy :(

actually the biggest problem facing information dissemination in the modern world of instant communication is the sudden lack of apparent disparity in good sources versus bad sources (regarding accuracy) and a heretofore unseen (in the history of the world) capacity for misinformation to spread unchecked and dilute the arena of public dialogue. open-input information sources are the best example of this (with wiki being the most glaring one.)

 

obviously it doesn't matter in the case of aqib talib jokes, but it's definitely an issue that concerns a whole lot of people
