Cam Newton "Never Say Never Moment of the Week" Candidate

You are exactly correct.....I used to work for ESPN and hot to watch many if the shows in person.

These segments are sort of scripted. They are told which side of the arguement they are to debate.

Because debate for the sake of debate is interesting. It's especially helpful for those who don't know much about a topic because they present both sides of an argument. You are allowed to take a 3rd or 4th side if you'd like.

If I had the language skills to be a columnist I would definitely enjoy doing these segments.

I do not watch the show but from the occasional video he does not seem like a great debater. He seems, at least in my experience, to rely too often on straw men, filibustering, and the protection of the host because it is his show. Apparantly he does not want to debate someone that has a problem with him unless they do it on his show (this is just what I have heard from others, as a non-viewer I could be misinformed here). That strikes me as someone afriad to play a road game.

They should transport the Mute Button from Around the Horn to his show (and all shows for that matter) so that people can be allowed to make their poin without him shouting and interupting when ever he can. In fact, political shows and debates would be much improved if that were to happen as well.

In all honesty, how can you have an opinion on something you do not watch. It's hersay until you see what your watching. I'm sure you complain about all the people who have opinions on Cam based on what they heard.

Or even better, I heard you were an ass. Sorry it's just what I heard, you could be a cool guy but I'll never take the chance because I've heard you're an ass. I'd at least watch the show with the understanding that they may be wrong or debate the extremes of a position, but they aren't doing it for you to believe them. It's not political in nature, just two guys babbling like their some educated couch potatoes.

If you look, I said I do not watch the show, but I have seen videos.  Stuff from that show is posted on espn.com and by other people on message boards all the time.  When it is something that interests me I will watch it.  I just do not sit down in the morning and watch the show.  So yes I have seen it.  The only part that is hersay is what I said about him only debating people if they come on his show, and I admitted that I may be misinformed on that part.

And honestly, if someone that does not know me thinks I am an ass it does not bother me in the slightest.  The list of people whose opinion of me matters to me is very small and limited to those that know me and whom I respect.  It is like I tell the kids at work all the time when someone they are not friends with says something that upsets them.  Their opinion is not the one that matters.

I agree with you. An uneducated opinion is the problem. Like the Richard Sherman video I'm sure you saw. If you think it bothers Skip that Sherman came on there to blast him for what he's said in scripted debates, I assure you he doesn't.

On a side note, it's painfully obvious that Revis is the better corner. Stats are blown up when you have other guys around you. Revis made the Jets secondary and it's obvious they are really hurting without him. I'm thinking the Seahawks next man up would fill in admirably for sherman

I am sure it does not bother him.  Sherman came on the show which improves ratings
