If Hardy walks...bring back Pep?

I definitely don't want to see Hardy walk, he will get a deal with us. As far as Peppers? I never knew why people hated his decision. A change a scenery is what he wanted. Heck Moose did it and came back. With people calling him Judas and such, thats a terrible thing to say. Heck I want a change of scenery, it just that I am not making millions lol.

So if Hardy walks your idea is to bring back a washed up player with no heart.

Glad you don't make the decisions.

child please! many look washed up but the reality is the team is washed up! Hardy is overrated and based on stats. Pep > Hardy. Hardy is not consistent. Not saying he's garbage by any means but how soon we forget all those takeaways, sacks, fumbles, pressure, and big plays. ungrateful huddlers here! peppers made us exciting 2003- departure! the only other panther was Steve!

Moose wanted to get paid, Peppers wanted out. I don't blame either, but Peppers did disappear a lot. Fiz had a comical breakdown of how bad Peppers could be when we played Dallas a few years back. I'll see it if can find it.

I loved Peppers and I hated to see him go.  I felt Jerry tried to force him into a role he was never going to be comfortable with and that had a lot to do with his discontent here.  Add to that, the guy was blasted in the media relentlessly, not saying he didn't deserve some of it, but a lot of it was ignorance too.  From the day Peppers put a Carolina uniform on I wanted it to be the only one he wore.  Yes I felt betrayed that he had no desire to remain a Panther and by his probowl interview, but I tried to understand that maybe he felt betrayed as well.  At any rate, his best years are behind him but he could still be a contributor and if he could be had for the right price I was love to see him back.

How can he feel betrayed when were going to pay him like 96 million dollars. Tells the media we didn't offer enough, then signs with the Bears for 2-3 million less?

Jerry was asking no more of Peppers than he is Charles Johnson now. If Peppers can't step up and be a vocal leader of the team than thats his fault for wanting to stay a man-child his whole life.

I'd only take him back for a reasonable amount. I hate the thought of relying on him as a starter again though. To be honest I would still take him back even if we do resign Hardy. But he would have to be a rotational player and his ego is probably too big for that.

Emotional response = fugg pep

Logcal response = bring up a washed up DE who will show up for about 6 games a year instead of a hungry young DE that is guaranteed to give you 100 percent....don't think so

I'd start Frank Alexander before bringing back that ungrateful assclown. Sorry, I have not forgiven Pep. We may have had an incompetent front office then, but we went above and beyond for pep. Don't want him back

The reason why the Panthers defense is dominating so much right now is because they never take plays off.

Something Peppers knows little about.

That being said, I have nothing against Peppers. I also don't blame him for leaving. The guy was born in North Carolina, played high school and college there and the first six years of his pro career. Forgive the guy for wanting a change of scenery! He had a chance to go and play in a different city, for a historic franchise and in a historic stadium. If you ever get a chance to go to Chicago, check out Soldier Field, it's a site to be seen.

Putting myself in his shoes, I totally get it. Still, the knock against Peppers existed then IMO and exists now... dude just didn't bring it on every snap. If you could put Hardy's motor into Peppers body, you're talking Lawrence Taylor. In fact, a lot of guys early on tried to compare Peppers to Taylor. That's not even fair. Taylor was a workhorse. Peppers isn't.
