Did we see the mark of Riverboat Ron on that last play?

I was reading this grantland article and came across this:

The Patriots lost to the Panthers on Monday night because they're not as good of a football team as the Panthers, who did all the little things that the old Patriots teams used to get credit for. And that includes daring the refs to call for a game-changing pass interference on the game-deciding play.

So my question to you: Do you think Rivera told Kuechly to wrap up Gronk for the win?

For me the signature moment for Riverboat Ron was our last offensive possesion. He could have gone no huddle and tried to squeeze in 2 possesions. Instead he had the confidence in his guys to run the clock down and convert on 3rd down. He took 5 minutes off the clock. At one point on 3rd and long, on the edge of field goal range he held up 4 fingers to Mike Shula. He was going for the win, not the tie. That was the crucible for Riverboat Ron.
