 Free Agents Getttlemen signed while climbing out of Hurney's cap hole who are making a difference on the TOP-RANKED defense in the NFL:

Munnerlyn CB (the entire secondary was signed by Gettlemen)

Undrafted Free agents who are contributing as rookies  (3 UNDRAFTED free agents are contributing to the defense):

I guess it would have been easier to say that the only defensive players who are contributing right now that Gettlemen did not sign are Kuechly, Davis, Hardy, and Johnson.

 

Dave Gettlemen is the man.

that is pretty telling. gettleman has built one of the best defenses in the league around a small core in less than a year at the helm.

 

i expect him to do the same with the offense next season.

      It must be an early Christmas for JT O'Sullivan having Thielen back so he could put a coal in Thielen's stocking every chance he gets.  Honestly, the biggest surprise is not so much the anticipation. There were those moments here and there last year as well. It's that even that one positive quality he had seemingly vanished his first two games to where it looked like it was all but over, only for it to start coming back some until you get exclamation points all over this game film. And some of those throws were under a lot of duress, something I feel is something new. Finally, those deeper shots are starting to land. Not all of them, but enough that defenses may have to start respecting them. No guarantees whether this will end up as more of anomaly but I certainly hope it isn't. The Green Bay game was a sampler of what BY could be. Against KC, we got a meal. If we could start getting these meals regularly, we might actually have something to work with here.

      Heels let another team go up 20 on them but this time they complete the comeback. HD never seems to have his team ready but he makes great halftime adjustments. Powell played the majority of the second half and his defense was the difference along with his big three pointer to give the Heels the lead for good. Trimble and Davis were also spectacular. Carolina can’t let Auburn get out to a 20 point lead though, they won’t be able to come back from that.
