It's been said by others, but I'll make it official

So you are saying Gronk didn't get mugged?

I am saying it wasnt a penalty he was just being face guarded. I am not sure you could even call holding there and it wasn't pass interference.

Gronk never reacted to the throw. It is a weird play where real time gives you a better representation than slow motion. If you watch it in real time you would realize Gronk had no chance to catch the ball.

Of course I did say the Patriots played dirty in the OP.  Also, I was very happy to see CJ come back on the field.  I much rather have him healthy again, even more than a win last night.  It's awesome we got both.

As far as the media goes, I believe the same fuss would have been made if this happened with Cam and Olsen.  I don't care much about the media going crazy.  I do believe the last play cheapened the game though.  Yet there is no question, Kuechly made illegal contact against Gronk, and had Gronk made any kind of attempt to come back for the ball (or if Brady threw it further in the endzone), Kuechly would have been called for a penalty.  The ball wasn't that far from where the contact occured, it wasn't like Brady threw it to the one yard line, it was in the endzone.

I'll be back to respond to some of the other posts.

It doesn't cheapen it no more than the all other calls during that didn't get go the Panthers way during the game.

Only a Panthers Fan..SMH

FYI, You know how one realizes there is no controversy here? The same folks in the media who are trying to make a controversy out of this, are contradicting themselve. They are all suppose to be in agreement, this is how you know these sports shows are fake, but they are all agruing against each other while trying to sound like they are on the same page. How are you going to say that the call was right but the Refs picking up the flag meant that something happened? That is such BS.

If you want to know what is going on just watch Gronk. He didn't complain or yell at the ref. He was resigned to losing the game until the flag comes out.

It looks worse in slow motion, but if you look at it in fast motion Gronk cannot make that catch. It would have been an under thrown pick regardless.

It was the right call and Keek did fine

When you see the live action replay, it's much more clear.

No Gront wasn't mug. U see how big that dude is? Keek had his hands full, literally and figuratively.

Plus, if you  look at the highlight with the filtering of the talking heads, you will see that Keek started guarding Gront as they both were heading out of bounds. The ball came in low and the other player came across and caught it. Even if Keek wasn't in the way, gront would't have caught the ball. It was short and low. You folks are acting like Brady threw the ball to the back of the endzone and Gront tried to catch it but couldn't.

keek did what was needed to secure a win at the last moment and even if he got away with something, does that mean he's reached a level of respect in the league that he's able to get away with that kind of thing? (cause you know that is the case with many respected vets)

things like this fall in team's favor all the time...it's just that it usually isn't us. this year it did. it feels good. i'll take poo like this any day.

I think Luke fugged up. The refs may have ultimately made the right call, but that doesn't completely take Luke off the hook.

If I'm his coach, then yes, I talk to him about it. Kuechly probably already knows he got a bit of a break because, right or wrong, that same call could have easily gone against us.

But it in no way cheapens the victory.

Gronk did not complain about the coverage until he saw the flag on the ground. He was not making any gestures like Olsen did when he got mugged. I do not believe he had a chance in hell of catching that ball. Game over, give it a rest, Panthers win.

Why would you want Luke to be penalized and give the Pats another chance to win? Luke knows the rules.

I do think it is fair to say that we would be raging if that happened to us. But we would also be wrong

we've had crap like this happen to us for years. games decided against us on questionable calls and non-calls.

it's good being on the other side of it. it feels GREAT for it to happen in our favor against the pats.

we lost a superbowl to them because they cheated. i'll never forget. even if we got away with something here, it doesn't come near repaying them for what they stole from us or what they've stolen from teams throughout the years.

Let's see...if it were a NE backer holding olsen on the last play and the roles were reversed this forum would be on fire and in shambles lol! So for you guys to come at us saints fans for brooks hitting drew with a JBL close line from hell and us agreeing with the call sounds pretty hypocritical right now doesn't it? Im not here to troll just stating i know you guys would be pissed if the roles were reversed! You guys were the Better team yesterday clearly and i think you still win without him holding. Just hope you realize your defense isn't a curtain like you thought and our series will be a slug fest! Im ready

...finally, somebody with a pair of eyes and common sense... far as im concerned luke had great position on grunk...any real contact that would have been called was after the ball was picked..
