I actually get where the OP is coming from. We have a great D but we are not a steel curtain. Those short passing plays killed us tonight and our tackling was very shoddy. Those can be correctable.

While it pissed me off that Brady could move the ball. Let's also realize that he pretty much does that to every defense. Losing Johnson made a big difference. However when it came time to play pressure football the defense was hanging in there.

I was disappointed by the D, but that's the beauty of it.

We've become so spoiled that a very good performance isn't up to par because they've raised our standards.

We took their best shot and WE were the ones still standing at the end.

Its Brady and penalties killed us. Without them they would have scored close to the average we give up.

slants and play action to open  the run on our 7 yard cushion.... they took what we gave them! Nevertheless its shows where the weakness is of our Defense. Not the front, Not the middle, but Corner play. Not saying they are garbage but I will suggest not giving them credit because that will fuel them with a necessary chip on the shoulder they need. why pat them on the back when they should be better. Lester is the true exception. All other are average or slightly better. For now....

It was the success they had in the run game. They had a lot of BEEF up front. Brady took advantage of the play action. Man. We either need more beef or must be able to get enough pressure on these 3TE fronts.

Melvin White was getting beat up and the Patriots surprisingly ran the ball pretty well.  Ridley's fumble really cost them.  Hoping Charles Johnson is okay.
