DETROIT -- A few thoughts on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 24-21 victory against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

What it means: The winning streak continues. It’s at three games, and this one was the most impressive. The Bucs won on the road for the first time this season. A team that seemed to have everything go wrong early in the season, finally got some breaks and took advantage of them. The Bucs had four interceptions, a fumble recovery and a blocked punt. The win also could continue to push coach Greg Schiano off the hot seat.

Play of the day: Rookie quarterback Mike Glennon hit Tiquan Underwood with an 85-yard touchdown pass with 14:05 remaining to give the Bucs a 24-21 lead.

Breaking the rules: There’s a rule that you don’t catch a punt if it’s inside your own 10-yard line. Tampa Bay’s Eric Page violated that rule late in the third quarter. He caught a punt that seemed destined to be a touchback inside the 5-yard line. Glennon and Underwood came through and got Page off the hot seat.

Almost the goat: Kicker Rian Lindell missed two field-goal attempts in the fourth quarter that could have given the Bucs a bigger cushion.

Revis sidelined: The much-anticipated matchup between Tampa Bay cornerback Darrelle Revis and Detroit receiver Calvin Johnson didn’t live up to its billing. Revis didn’t play in the second half after suffering a groin injury.

What’s next: The Buccaneers play at Carolina next Sunday.

May they lose next week and win their final four.  7-9 with a 7-1 finish likely saves Shiano's job and it would also include a victory over the Saints.

If they go 7-1 he's earned it back. We joke about hoping he does barely enough to stay but that would actually be quite an achievement on his part and not necessarily good for us long term.

I like for our division to be competitive though (as long as we come out on top)

should be another tough game next week. Bucs are playing well, and I suspect the Panthers will come out ready

4 ints, a fumble recovery, and a blocked punt....and they only put up 24 pts and won by 3 (on a last second play).....and the Lions D sucks ass.

 

They are playing better, but are nowhere near a good team.

I certainly can NOT say that the Lions D sucks ass.  In fact, they are good.  We are playing much better ball...though, some luck did come our way at times. 

 

We had Goldson sitting out from his penalty and Reevis go out with a groin injury.  I was happy to see the players that came in step up.  I've been pleased with the steady improvement in our team.

 

I believe we are steadily becoming a very good team...even with a rookie QB.

 

I haven;t listened to any press conferences so I don't know who else is hurt, but I do believe our Bucs/Panthers game this time will be a much better game.
