Munnerlyn: Secondary gets no respect

'Nope,'' Munnerlyn said shaking his head, ''they'll still give all of the credit to our front seven. If we go out there and hold Brady to under 200 yards they'll still give it to the front seven. Guaranteed.''

The Panthers rank fourth in the league against the pass and have only allowed seven touchdown passes this season.

The secondary has combined for nine interceptions, five forced fumbles and 4 1-2 sacks. Two of those interceptions were returned for touchdowns.

Uh....that's because before we had a dominant front seven, you nobodys played like garbage.

We've gotten many coverage sacks this year. They've played much better since we added White and Mikell/Lester into the rotation

Didn't I make a thread saying this very same thing earlier in the week? They've been rock solid this year. Panthers fans that keep saying we have the best Front 7 in football only rather than the best defense are really underselling things.

My biggest gripe with the secondary this year is dropping a couple sure picks (looking at you, Cap).

And if that's the biggest complaint I can come up with, I think that says they're having a hell of a year. Those guys in the back are holding up their end of the bargain.

Ever since they put White in for Josh Thomas they have been playing very well.

Captain has been playing lights out the past two seasons, if not only this year. it's a shame people aren't recognizing it and giving him props. The whole secondary has looked great. Can't wait to see how our defense handles a future hall of famer on Monday.

Capt sounds a little salty towards the front 7. Honestly, his comment comes off a little odd to me in regards to team chemistry, but I may just be reading into it too much.

Just off the top of my head I can count 4 times where Captain has let a turnover slip through his hands, literally. 1 in Minnesota, 2 in Tampa, and 1 in SF. I'll start giving Captain credit when he starts capitalizing on his opportunities.

Those missed opportunities led to the other team scoring points in the SF and Minnesota games. I think atleast 1 of the 2 led to points against Tampa.
