I expect the Pats to go 4 or 5 wide to slow down the rush. While they won't give up the run, they won't beat their heads against a wall.

 

Brady will spread the ball around, get the DL back on their heels, then hand the ball off on delays & draws.

Edleman's touches have gone down since Gronk came back. The few opportunities he was getting will drop to zero if Vereen is back close to 100%. I don't expect him to see the ball much at all on offense, unless someone goes down.

 

Thomkins hasn't seen the field the past two games. Not sure if he's in BBs doghouse or what. Dobson  has taken over the #1 wr position.

 

Pats are saving Edleman for what he does best - punt returns.

This is, ideally, where you want Newton to be within the next few years.

A quick release trumps all the athleticism in the world. That's why the winningest QBs in the league are pocket passers.

Sometimes it's a trade off for athletic QBs. They gain the quick read and release with experience, but by that time their athleticism isn't what it once was.

If, however, you can build that quick release into Newton while he's still young enough to have his athleticism, look out.

Your sauce is weak. Do not enter that sauce in the county fair, because it is weak.

That is nonsense. In a game like this, the Patriots will need Edelman to contribute as a slot reciever. Someone has to fight for the tough yards. Someone has to move the chains. That kid is a gamer. Former college quarterback turned reciever and now a return specialist... Give the man some props.

 

As much as I'd like to believe that a Tom Brady to Shane Vereen touchdown pass will be the decisive factor in this game, my heart tells me that this will be a grind, and in a game like that, I want a guy like Edelman on the field every play. .
