First sprain that didn't go away overnight. Swelling is minor so is the pain. Some difficulty walking but I can put all of my weight on it no problem. Any advice to expedite the recovery? I didn't go to the doctors because they will just tell me to RICE and fug me with the bill. Pretty sure its a grade 1 sprain.

if it's the first sprain that didn't go away overnight you've never sprained anything before!

I'm with Doc on this one. Sprains of any grade don't go away over night so I think you have twisted something but never sprained it. I have broken my feet 5 times and have sprained them at least twice that many times. I can assure you that a sprained foot hurts way worse than any break I have had and that includes one compound fracture where the bone not only broke through my skin but also the shoe I was wearing. Even a grade 1 sprain takes at least 2-3 weeks to recover from and the swelling is usually very bad.

Get an ACE support wrap that laces, wear a thick pair of shoes or boots.

Take Tylenol, or something a lot like it, and drink an energy drink.

This...and here's is something every athlete should have in his/her bag

http://www.amazon.com/ASO-Ankle-Stabilizing-Orthosis-Medium/dp/B000TGUN7A/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1384789599&sr=8-9&keywords=ankle+support+brace

It's an ASO brace...not ACE.  Try to stay off of it, but if you have to stay on it use the brace.  Pick one up at any local medical supply place...not Walmart brand.  Don't think they sell ASO brand.  Twice I've been to orthopaedics next morning after having being slid into playing baseball/softball.  One time I just knew I'd broken something.  Everything popped and I didn't take my high top cleats off until I got home.  Went by Walmart and got some wraps...etc.  Unlaced my shoe and my ankle swole up like a cantelope.  At THAT point...ice it and elevate.  Beyond that...try to stay off of it.  Both cases I tore all ligaments in my ankle.  Last time I had to borrow crutches because I couldn't put weight on the foot.

Broke wrist once (scaphoid) and swear the sprains have been 10 times more painful.

    • After the Chiefs game a 6'5 X would really help in the Red zone. I would also love to add Slayton in FA
    • But again, you can restock a defense through free agency much easier than offensive skill positions. Spend all our cap space on defense, take a true elite prospect who also happens to fit a position of need in T-Mac, and then use the rest of our picks on defense. Again, every season there’s a smattering of great DL, LB, and DB options in free agency, a Top 10 WR never hits free agency, ever.  The only way you get one is through the draft or giving up 1st round picks in a trade for one. If he’s there when we’re on the clock, he has to be the pick, he’s just that good.
    • It must be an early Christmas for JT O'Sullivan having Thielen back so he could put a coal in Thielen's stocking every chance he gets.  Honestly, the biggest surprise is not so much the anticipation. There were those moments here and there last year as well. It's that even that one positive quality he had seemingly vanished his first two games to where it looked like it was all but over, only for it to start coming back some until you get exclamation points all over this game film. And some of those throws were under a lot of duress, something I feel is something new. Finally, those deeper shots are starting to land. Not all of them, but enough that defenses may have to start respecting them. No guarantees whether this will end up as more of anomaly but I certainly hope it isn't. The Green Bay game was a sampler of what BY could be. Against KC, we got a meal. If we could start getting these meals regularly, we might actually have something to work with here.
