When Cam won the Heisman he willed his team against the might Tide of Alabama.  Played outstanding in the National Championship game.

 

Is this the national spotlight game that finally gets Cam to become the player that takes over a game?

A player who wills his team to victory?  I am waiting for that game to happen,.   I feel his is on the cusp of it now.

i hope so (well, maybe not the national exposure b/c i could care less about that). it's in him, for sure.

 

if we get that guy on the field, sidelines, and lockerroom every week we don't lose...esp. with the other pieces in place.

 

the auburn cam was constantly getting the crowd hyped and was able to get that team coming back from losses. he had that team feeling unbeatable, which we are pretty close to right now. i just think that if cam unleashes that part of him we become unstoppable.

He played well enough to win in the BCS title but he wasn't lights out either... And while I think if we win this game we will cartainly get more national exposure, i've started to care less and less about all this 'media respecting us' mumbo jumbo shlt, who cares what they all think of cam and the team? The winning will speak for itself.

He also played great against a #12 ranked Arkansas team and a #6 ranked LSU team.

I don't doubt Cam in the slightest when it comes to performing on the big stage. The Giants game last year was a complete team meltdown. No way you can pin that one on Cam.

Super excited for Monday, feels really good to be watching meaningful football again in November.

I've seen Cam "take over a game" numerous times. Unfortunately, this usually resulted in a loss. We have far too much talent for our QB to have to literally "will his team to victory" every week. It's not a coincidence that our team is playing well, and we're now winning.

Maybe it's because it's a big, nationally televised game against one of the best teams in the league right now, but I've had the same feeling. This MAY be one of those games where the game is tight at the half, or we're down at the half, and then Cam comes out and just throws it the fug down. I'd like to see that happen. However, I never want Cam to HAVE to be in that position due to the rest of the team. It's good that he DOES have that ability, but if he is having to do that regularly, we have a bigger issue. Luckily, we're playing well in all 3 phases of the game, overall, and that is leading us to victory at the moment. I hope we have a total team win on Monday and we can all celebrate the fact that we have a QB who has the potential to be one of the greatest of our time and a defense that can shut down anybody.

according to the media and most fans the only way he can be a successful franchise QB is if he leads us back from a 20 point deficit with 2 minutes remaining solely with his arm while preaching the scripture on the sideline

true. that first season we should have had a winning season and cam did more than enough to get us there but the defense sucked and lost games for us that we had pretty much in the bag.

 

last year we should have had a winning season, despite chud's playcalling/gameplanning. there were a few games that we could have won and had the lead in that the old rivera cost us by trusting in a still weak and worn down D late in games and some old antiquated book that he was going by and we let wins slip away.

 

the problem with cam those first couple seasons was he wasn't an overcomer. he let losses get to him too much. he let his mistakes get to him too much. he was always looking for the other shoe to drop rather than trying to find a way to curb stomp his way to the top. that wasn't just him, tho, it was the culture of the club. the team was apathetic and just accepted losing. it had no confidence in themselves and part of that was rivera. he had very little faith in his offense in clutch situations and he essentially set up the D to fail by putting them in situations where they had to try and protect a very small lead in hostile environment. he knew that the D was worn out. the secondary and interior DL was weak in pretty much regardless of the situation. those were the weakest links on the team, but he put protecting a lead on their shoulders and that was a huge mistake.

 

i think that the team has a confidence in themselves that has been lacking for a long time and a lot of it has to do with the confidence that rivera has put in the offense and the pressure that he has taken off the defense.

I think what we are looking for is for Cam to pretty much be Superman every game, every quarter, every down. Dominate, the likes of which have never been seen.

We've had some glimmer and glimpses, just not on a weekly level... Yet. When he does, we will be one very impressive team.

IMO, Cam is still trying too hard to be perfect. Or to put it another way, he is still thinking too much. Which, to me anywho, is great. When Cam learns to relax, and let the good times roll, the sky will be the limit for this kid.

Worse case? Cam stays at his current level, and we are still serious contenders. Best case? The kid grows into what we all envision, and we are, like you said, unstoppable. And it really doesn't take that big of a step for Cam to have Super Duper Star Numbers.

Pesonally, I see the potential for 2 players on our team, to have HOF careers. That my friends is something special. Enjoy it, and hope it lasts a long long time.

Let me put it this way. I think Cam's inexperience was his biggest hurdle. Most guys get 3, even 4 years to groom themselves for the NFL. Cam got 1. With the culture he was thrust into? Its a major testament to his manhood that he came through it in fine style. By all reasons, this should be Cams rookie year, and we got 2 years experience outta him already.

Dude, I just can't articulate it. I have this feeling that Cam is about ready to explode. "Game Manager" I got your "Game Manager" right here buddy. Eric Davis, who likes Cam, called him the best game manager out there. Oh no he didn't.

Avg. to good Cam can be scary, no boubt adout it. Good to great Cam is ...our future. Catch the fugging ball, and Cam gots this.

If both rayzor and frash are on board, you know things are going well. And things sure seem to be going our way lately. Lafell getting his fumble back, to me, was a sign that things maybe were going to be alright. Almost all those WTF? moments are going our way now.

Cam in 2010 had the greatest single season in college football history.  Cam is the greatest QB in NFL history through 41 games.  The close losses were all part of a grander plan, even one more win the last two years and we don't get Luke or Star.  Cam is still that Cam, and our team can and will be that good.  What a great time to be a Panther fan, the next decade+ are going to be VERY fun.

Not sure what you are implying here. Right now, I would stack this Panther team up with just about anybody. We are in the same sentence as Lions,Sea, Den, and even aints, of the game. And we are just getting this party started.

Our Defense went from decent, but with a chance of folding late. To dominant, and physically imposing. We just plain beat you up.

All Cam has to do is not suck, and we can be competitive. Good to great Cam and we can be scary good. Fully blossomed Cam...is our future. Cam is getting closer every game. Pretty soon he is going to explode. When he finally does. We are going to be like rayzor said. "Unstoppable"

If you don't think Cam is going to have a HOF career, then so be it. But if you do, like so many other of us, then you have to believe this is just the tip of the ice berg.

Peyton Manning had 4 years of College and he still struggled. Cam had 1 year of College, and he has had struggles. Let the kid find his wings, or, groove, as the kids say, we all know they're there. He just needs to find them.

Screw this politically correct BS. Cam ain't the fugging problem. Drops, and we lost our aggression. We went from top of the class, to the bottom of the class, in terms of down field passes.

I guess the powerz that be like long, time consuming, methodically aggressive, eat, and wear on, the D's heart and soul, scoring drives. Over splash type plays. Once again, Hubby on the wrong side of the bed.

I almost wanted to comment on each quote since I started this as I was about to leave work.

 

TheRed you're right about putting us ahead only to see it disappear with a porous defense or special teams play.  I am ready to see him really take over a game.   

 

It like that Michael Jordan syndrome.  There isn't anything you can do to stop him.  He is in a zone and does all the right things no matter what you do to stop him.   Very few players in NFL history have been able to do it because it just a team sport but it has been done.

 

I would love to see that from Cam Newton especially against New England.  

 

I want him to really WOW everybody and shut them up once and for all about whether he is a Franchise QB or not.
