And the point they make is so fuging moot. The 2011 Patriots went 13 and f ucking 3 and didn't beat a single winning team the entire year and still went to the Super Bowl after facing an 8-8 team in the playoffs. All that matters is that you beat the teams you're supposed to beat and split with the rest.. that makes you a good team.

Once you're in the dance all bets are off. 2002 Bucs, 2003 Panthers, 2007 Giants, 2011 Giants, and countless other teams proved that.

Valid points. My order of importance. Defend you house well, split or better on the road, beat the teams you should, and give the good teams a good tussle. That gets you playoffs every time.

You play who is up next on your schedule. Hellz, remember when we all thought we had such a tough schedule at the beginning of the year?

I am not dismissing the pats, they are still 7-2. Right? But there situation as WR, and the loss of Wolfork, has them vulnerable right now. Fortunately, "This Team" is in perfect position to add the pats to our spanked list.

 

 

You'll likely get blasted for that but it very well could be the truth. In fact I lean to this thinking as well, maybe not to the extreme statements. I'm a tough sell. Beat New England and I might think Rivera should stick around.

I want to point out that at the beginning of 2013 we were going to face 5 of our first 9 opponents were Playoff teams.   While they have fallin on hard times.  That is not our concern. We play who was on our schedule.

 

If you look back at the other 4 Arizona and Buffalo were worse than our record.

 

Rams were 7-8-1 and the Bucs were even with us at 7-9.  

 

So STFU about the weak schedule.  Most of these teams were up and coming not Suckcity.

We might not win this game, but even if we don't, it's not an indication that this team sucks or is a pretender etc... The Patriots are a very tough game for any team.  But I like our chances.  We have the right formula to beat them.  We match up well against them.  But Brady and Belicheck are always wildcards...

Panthers beat 5 teams with a total record of 12-34.  The only team with a winning record was the 49ers and all the others are well below 500.  The San Fran win was a great win, but let's not get confused.  

 

Rivera sucks and he will show how bad on Monday night in what will be embarrassing.  Sucks that so many people have actually bought into Rivera now that he has won games the Panthers are suppose to win against shitty teams.  Now it looks like we are stuck with this turd.

 

I would love to see the Panthers win...but I'm not delusional.

Fan = Went to every home game until 2006 when I moved....away games at the following stadiums (Houston SUPERBOWL, St. Louis PLAYOFFS, Philly PLAYOFFS, Atlanta several times, Tennessee, Tampa every year, Miami, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and I'm sure I'm forgetting somewhere)   It is easy to be a fan when you live in Carolina.  Try being a fan in another city and actually supporting your team in a hostile crowd or bar.....it does provide fans unclouded glasses though.  I no longer blindly support a coach or team when I simply know better.  Rivera has beaten poo teams.....

 

SF should have beaten the Panthers in the 4th quarter.  As usual the offense could not hold the ball and keep SF off the field and gave them 2 opportunities to win.  The defense is in beast mode, but you can not ask them to close out games over and over again.  Eventually coaching needs to take place.  Rivera need to learn how to close out games and SF may have been a win, but not because of coaching...it was because the defense went off and shut down SF!  Brady is not Kapernick so do not get it twisted.  If the Panthers are even in the game in the 4th quarter, which I have serious doubts after watching Pittsburgh get destroyed with their top ranked defense, then the Panthers can not hand the ball over 2 times with a 1 point lead and expect to win.  

 

I hope the Panthers do win...but I'm not going to read all this garbage you guys are posting about playoffs. It is one game at a time and the Patriots are not looking at the playoffs right now...they are looking at the Panthers.

 

PS....I just renewed my marriage vows on the 8th and I wore a Panthers hat during the ceremony.
