Cam's continuing maturation

A little while ago I did a thread comparing Cam's throwing mechanics to that of Johnny Unitas.  With this thread I'm going to compare Cam's maturation to another great QB.  Roger Staubach.

Early on in Staubach's career, he wasn't a very polished passer.  He played his college ball with Navy, and they didn't throw the ball much.  In fact, even to this day they still run the ball just about every play.  Early on Roger's strength was his running ability, and that was what he leaned on in his primitive years in the NFL.  Here's a little snippet I've found on youtube showing some of his escapability...

I'll also say there's been a lot of dropped passes in this season.  Smitty is not what he used to be, Olsen dropped a few, and the other guys are serviceable.  We'll get Cam some help as time goes along, but I imagine the guys we have now will improve their play.  I would also like to see Tedd Ginn on offense a lot more.  He's clearly our deep threat right now.

What I would like to see is a Cam Newton with good interior pass protection. As with any QB, the best way to throw them off their rhythm to get interior pressure, this is magnified with Cam because of his youth and the fact that his footwork coming into the league was the number one area of work. (not any of the ridiculous fabricated Nawrocki crap that sheep today still try to peg on him)

he's such a tremendous QB and when I think of the room for growth including in that area and how he could perform with said interior protection then im really, really stoked

I frankly dont care about how hard he throws the ball. If we were talking about him rocketing balls on screens and such it'd be one thing but we're talking about guys dropping balls that hit them in the stomach on deep crossers and comebacks.

I'd like to see Shula get back to using more of the short game. we havent the past couple weeks and the offense has suffered because of it.
