DRAFT SPECULATION/NEWS THREAD

I know your not whining. Wasn't pointed towards u. Just in general everybody is soooooo worried about his defense. How come nobodies worried about Jabari Parker's defense. Coach k would take him out of lineups in COLLEGE. Plenty of guys aren't great on defense but they still are very valuable players.

Because I can see Parker coming into the league and avg. 17 -20 points a game. I don't see that for McDermott.

I can see a lot of similarities in Parker's game and Melo's game. I don't see the comparison to McDermott. Either you're talking a stretch 4 like Dirk ( but McDermott not tall enough) or a spot up wing shooter like Korver, Wally or Battie (but all of them were wing players not post players in college).

Some here see a hard transition for him and a spot where we already have young talent (Mkg, Taylor or Cody) trying to develop and don't see the need in adding another player in the mix.

I never argued anything about them offensively. They both were outstanding offensively In college. I was talking defense. Everyone is all over McDermott for defense. Saying that's why they don't want him and such. But u hear nothing of Parker who was pretty bad defensively. I agree. I see Parker coming in averaging 10-17 ppg. I see McDermott his first year scoring 7-12.

It's McDermott.

That's why I have went through and tried to find the positives I like about him. Everything has pointed to him being the pick. So why cry as whine about it. Instead I'm gonna back the guy and become his biggest fan and root for him. Instead of secretly hoping he fails so I can say I told ya so.

I'm a hornet fan and no matter who we pick I will back day one. But everybody be prepared bc it might happen and when it does just try to relax and think about the positives. Lol

the lies

Lies? Dude, I've lived my whole life in Greensboro and went to the same high school as PJ. I didn't say I was the guys best friend. I've met him many times. He was friends with many of my friends when we were 16-17. I played ball with him and some other guys a few times.

How do you know PJ? did you play him in madden?

In other news...

Chris Mannix: The Hornets have shown sporadic interest in dealing the No. 24 pick, according to a source. Talks with teams have cooled in the last week. Twitter @ChrisMannixSI

But, but, Mitch McGary and the promise made. Lol

I can't wait for tomrw night. I'm so drained from all the rumors.

McD can learn defense under Clifford, no problem.

The problems is, he is too slow to handle the SF's and too small to handle PF's.  That is the tweener issue.

Yes, he has a good shot and can be used coming off the bench for situational scoring, but not sure you want to go that route at #9, maybe mid teens, but not 9
