Random observations from SF trip

I went out a couple days early and did the tourist thing. Everywhere my wife and I went, we wore Panthers gear. The people we nice (they know tourism is their #1 industry) whether they were working or just passing by. They usually asked if we were out for the game, wished us well, with a Go 9ers jab at the end. We went to one local breakfast spot and the whole restaurant turned and looked at us (and our Panthers gear) we we came in. Nobody said anything to us except the owner who gave us some mild ribbing. Other thoughts:

1) Candlestick is a dump, no wonder they are building Levi's Stadium which opens next year. They did have entertainment inside the gates with a band, cheerleaders, etc. The beers cost $10 each (ouch) and had liquor there too.

2) They have large, centralized parking/tailgating around the stadium (kind of like FedEx Field.) Good food, plenty of groups there early, but most arrive the hour or so before the game. Getting out of the lot is a bitch.

3)Overall, the crowd was louder than BOA. They were into the game early and were consistently making noise.

4) They have their dummies too, making "Let's go Niners" chants when SF was on offense.

5) During the game, a lot of people behind us were making comments to try to get a rise out of us, but we didn't take the bait.

6) These comments stopped in the 4th quarter, ha ha.

7) Before the game the Niners fans wanted to talk some junk, which we ignored. After the game, none would make eye contact and had nothing to say.

8) We had a lot more Panthers fans (many from the west coast who had never been east) than I expected.

9) The standard Panthers fans greeting was a fist bump and "Keep Pounding!"

10) SF had a lot of their fans fly in to see the game, I talked to some from SD, MT, etc.

11) Post game radio was in a meltdown mode as they talked about losing to us like we would if we would lose to Tampa Bay when we played them. And the radio guys were excuses, excuses, excuses.

12) Thanks the the Panthers, the flight home was short and sweet. Now let's beat NE!

I was there too, I was so excited, Those 49ers fans looked so sad when they were leaving LOL.  I was there with two co workers (both 49er fans), I was to faded to really smack talk on the way home.  But I had my share of smack talk during the tailgate and getting to my seats.  Mostly friendly

I posted the link and not the image, picture is to big. It was me of course in the middle with my two co workers. I was decked out in Panther gear, Had my Nike Panther shoes, My Beason Jersey and my Black Panther hat.

One fan tried to call me out on my fan hood, what a douche, starting asking me questions about my team, I answered  them all correctly and he shutted up. Told him we are the 1st expansion team to beat the defending Super Bowl Champs (the last year they were relevant up until recent IMO).  I then proceeded to bash his bandwagon fans that came out of the closet when Harbaugh took over.

Another fan asked me if I thought we really had a chance, I did not want to be too cocky, but I told him it would be a close one Win or Lose.  He then laughed and something about us getting blown out, I told him to "meet me back here after the game and see whats up", I wish I could have seen him.

When DWill ripped off that 27 yard run, the fans behind me started bashing DWILL saying he poo and he aint never done anything, I just turned to them and said " You gonna learn today" (in my drunk want to be Kevin Hart voice)

I took some more pics but I aint no ZOD, especially with my iPhone camera (I was pretty drunk and stop taking them for some reason).

This was my 1st Panther game, and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

Why the Beason jersey?  Sucks he got traded after you dropped ~$100 for his jersey.

I have an authentic Beason too. No matter where he ends up he will always be one of my favorite panthers. On game day I go Luke, Cam, Smitty, or Greene though.

    • KC has a very good defense this year. It is 5th overall. Yes, still worse than last year, but their offense is considerably worse. Their passing D may be their "weakness" but they still allow fewer than 20 ppg. BY completed several deep passes yesterday, and he was able to threaten downfield in ways he didn't seem capable of before the benching. I'm not necessarily worried about his ability to connect deep anymore. What to me was impressive was that he did all this without a run game. We used the pass to set up what little running success we had. Wild.
    • Solid and fair assessment.   I will say, one of the big things I noticed yesterday was that he wasn't shy to step up into the pocket in the face of pressure.  He's trusting the IOL.  And they took care of Chris Jones yesterday.  We had clean pockets but also good success rate vs. pressure which just hasn't been the case with Bryce.   If he has more confidence the OL gets it done and he can navigate and step up for throws, that's huge.  It's one of the biggest things that's held him back.  He was previously bailing quickly and just too easily throwing away or making dead plays.     He was finding his 2nd to 3rd reads within structure/without bailing in the pocket.  That was nice to see, as much concern I have with him.  And the overall limitations will always be there. Time to back it up this week against the Bucs.
    • Suddenly the Cowgirls look like our best chance for a win remaining. I think the Bucs are playing better than the Falcons of late.  Our lone game versus the dirty birds is in the ATL where we always struggle.  The Cardinals are marginally better than I thought they would be. We are not beating the Eagles, they are starting to roll. I'm saying two at most, next week at home versus the Bucs and the Cowgirls.
