Ed Reed released....should Panthers sign?

Could the Panthers use a HOF Safety to compliment our young secondary and make Superbowl run.......or dont mess with current Defense chemistry?

No. Hell no. The answer is absolutely fuggin NO!

I live in Houston and made fun of my co-workers that Reed was a desparation signing. He isn't good anymore, he probably isn't healthy, and the Texans haven't won a game since he started playing.

I'm taking the Texans to win on Sunday.

This is the kind of thing I've talked about before, i.e. the mistake of valuing someone based on who they used to be rather than who they are now.

Would I want the Ed Reed of five years ago? Sure. Problem is that guy doesn't exist anymore. And the Ed Reed of right now is so broken down I wouldn't even want him as a backup.

Nostalgia makes for bad football.
