Expect a HUGE game from Smitty Monday night...

Talib can be baited, I'm pretty sure of that. I'm not sure where he falls on the Smitty respect-o-meter, closer to the Revis end or the Janoris Jenkins end.

Smitty HATES Talib, due to his dirty play in Tampa, I recall when Clausen was starting and Talib hit Clausen late helmet to helmet(three seconds after the play was over) when Clausen tried to sneak the ball over the goal-line and the hit ended up concussing Clausen. Of course Steve tried to fight Talib.

Here is the article

The Panthers were seething Monday over the play that may have gotten Clausen hurt. They claim a couple of Tampa Bay players recklessly dove into the pile as Clausen was stuffed shy of the goal line on fourth down on Carolina's final offensive play Sunday in the Buccaneers' 31-16 win.

Receiver Steve Smith said Aqib Talib and Sean Jones "went head first into Jimmy." Replays showed Talib appeared to hit Clausen with a helmet-to-helmet hit. Smith then shoved Talib and was given a 15-yard penalty.

"Despite what people might think, actually I am a team player and I'll do it again, and I'll do it 10 out of 10 times, 100 out of 100 times," Smith said of the penalty. "Guys going in there, he goes head first in there, so I'm going to follow."

One thing is certain, if Bellinchek is nothing else, he is a film hound and he will focusing on making our best player on defense ineffective, and our best player on offense...not sure who that is right now...but, he will know better than me.

If he feels if he takes away Olsen, that will cause Newton grief that is what he will do...if it's taking away Smith that is what he will do or putting a spy on newton to stop the run.

These are obvious things.

I really hope that the OC has prepared Newton for where his safety valves are because if I where a betting person, I'd say they would take Olsen away and double team Smith and say, 'ok  Cam, now find that open man and make the throw'.    Newton has really got to find those check downs to make them come off of it.

Bellincheck knows Cam goes to Olsen in trouble...he also knows Smith isn't what he used to be.

It will be interesting to see the game plan.

The only person I've really seen shut down 89 this year has been 89... He has to be beating himself up over those drops.

That is 89 shutting himself down against weak CBs

He hasn't been able to be the elite CBs for awhile

Newton still targets 89 heavily.....

So you put Talib on 89 bc it is your best odds to get an INT.

Lol.  Y'all realize that you are saying that Smith isn't elite anymore and in the same breath saying that Talib will shut him down because he is "playing cornerback better then [sic] ANYBODY right now."

To me, that means 89 is STILL elite.  Anytime you can take the other team's best corner out of the rest of the game, and often roll coverage over, the offense has a distinct advantage.  To me, that IS elite.

This was just LAST YEAR:

Newton throws a high volume at 89.....and isn't elite anymore.

If they put Talib on him isn't taking Talib out of the game.....bc Cam will still try to complete balls to him. Means high odds for wasted downs or turnovers.
