Cam can and should be playing better. He had a poor game and if we had lost everyone would be talking about it.

You guys defend him no matter what and it gets old. Even Cam knows he needs to be better. These kind of mistakes in the post season will lose the game easy. Yes he made some good plays but a number one overall pick should be after three years. He has been playing poorly the past couple games and what I'd really like to see is him play how he did when he first started winning several games ago; throwing the check downs, making smart plays and taking what the defense gives him.

 

I never said he doesnt need to improve, he stunk it up the first half.

 

I'm just saying, it was good to see him get over his slow start and make the throws that ended up counting the most.

As far as the drops go, I'd say they even out with the over the head, behind the receiver, one handed catches that are made.

I'm sure we all remember that dirt ball he threw into the end zone [maybe to a tight end?  Brockel?] last year.  Could have won the game for us.  We lost instead.  What game was that?  Anyway, the kid showed TREMENDOUS poise, throwing accurate balls right at the sticks.  Those were clutch throws.  We have proven we can blow inferior teams out.  We proved Sunday that we can "turn the corner," and win close games through clutch plays.  Granted, we had a case of the fumbles at the end, and that has to be cleaned up, we still made the play to get the ball back.

Without the drops he'd have been around 60% and over 200 yards against a beastly defense. Also, this is after a bad start in which all the usual dipshit trolls resurfaced with the usual "derp there goes the game derp fug you cam derp" trash posts. He was money on 3rd and recovered after a bad start which is major progress and a welcome sight if you're not a shitposter who is still gazing fixedly at their Andrew Luck Stanford poster over the bed.

Haha.  Dude, what are you talking about?  I bring up Cam's faults every time we win a game?  I have been on Cam's side since day one, but I am by no means a Cam apologist either.  I think you are being a little hypersensitive.  It was a legitimate comment about his improvement and making quality, clutch plays.  Like most arguments, that is best illuminated by compare and contrast.  And, yes, you "stand corrected" as to the meaning of my comment; you misinterpreted my intention.

Last time I saw that game brought up was probably preseason. Those posters have since pulled a Houdini act, predictably of course.

That would-be pick that went through Bowman's hands seemed to wake Cam up and he played okay the rest of the game. No worries.

 

He gets nervous like crazy at the start of big games, expect him to struggle in the 1st quarter against New England as well. His first big nationally televised game and against the Patriots and Belichick? Oh yeah, he's going to look bad early on.
