Where will YOU be Monday night?

This is a dumb comment. CDs and beepers were also state of the art 20 years ago. Perhaps you need to visit newer stadiums.

Oh...and if you ever accuse me of liking anything ATL again, even in fun, I will hunt you down and....you won't like the rest.

What is dumb is comparing a concrete and steel structure which have been significantly renovated every few years to stay current with electronic fads which change every few years.  I suppose Dallas's stadium is outdated as well because it was built before the latest I-pad design.

At least we can agree on hating Atlanta.

Tell me what in the 100 and/or 500 levels is a "must see" in BoA Stadium? I didn't say our place was a dump, I was just making a point that the game is going to be better than walking about the 500 level. If you walk for two sections in the concourse then you've basically seen the whole thing.

And if you want to compare our stadium vs. other NFL stadiums we can do that too. Spoiler: the results will show ours is outdated vs the rest of the league.

Most people go there to see the game.  Most any stadium is similar and you don't see the inner workings unless you do a tour. But this is Dex's first game so it will be fun for him to see everything for the first time.  But how does that  make it outdated and old.

Sooo....you're not able to tell me anything that is a must see for starters....which reinforces my whole point which was to watch the game and not waste time wailing the stadium.

And BoA ranks in the bottom third in the league in age. If our team ranked in the bottom third in wins I would say we are a bad team. Since our stadium is in the bottom third in age then it's more than fair to say it's outdated. If it wasn't outdated there wouldn't have been a huge push from JR to get money to renovate the stadium.

I'm not talking poo on BoA - I love that place - but it's BECOMING (which is what I originally said) outdated. And that's a fact.

The majority were built during a small window between 1995 and 2003 which was an 8 year window.  Most of that was with public funds which has since dried up for the most part.  Look at the recent efforts to get NC to pony any money for the stadium.  If that trend continues you are going to see owners slow down on the build a new stadium kick and do like us which is renovate the old one since it will all be out of private dollars. Since 2003 there have been 4 stadiums built and the trend is likely to slow even more.

"If you think about how much Lincoln Financial Field and Gillette Stadium cost, they were in the $300 millions. And it's like these things skipped 5, 6, 7 and 8, and went straight to $1 billion," said Marc Ganis, president of SportsCorp, a consulting firmarrow-10x10.png that works with clubs on stadiums. "First of all, you're building way too much into these stadiums. They've become edifices to the glory of the architect or the team owner. Second, the restrictions and the economics of developing a stadium are now cockeyed."

The things they are recommending like updated connectivity, bigger video boards and other things to close the gap between watching at home and going to a game are already being done at BOA.  The risk is costing so much to built that fans can't afford to go to games with the scaling back of costs due to the economy.

Here is a comparison which has our stadium which is 17th.  Funny that their number 1 choice was Green Bay which was built in 1957 and renovated in 2003.  Gee maybe newer isn't always better...

Again I have been going to games for years and seeing all the home ones.  So I am one to tailgate until the last minute and then make a beeline to my seat in time for introductions.  I am there to see the game.  Then again I have never been on a stadium tour of BOA and am not planning one.  So my goals and ideas of what is important is not the same as others.  Still I remember being impressed the first time I went to a game and figure people for the first time might feel the same.

As for being outdated, that is what the renovation is for.  Most stadium upgrades these days are video screens and technology not mortar and bricks.  BOA has continued to stay current with technology which keeps them from being outdated.

You still haven't addressed any of my points.  You're obviously way too hardhead to have a simple conversation with about this AND this is way off of the simple point I was trying to make to begin with, so I'm out on this topic.

PS...any stadium where you have to walk to the top level is outdated IMO.  Hell...even the poohole stadiums in ATL and STL have escalators.  Nice that those are coming soon.
