Getting Defensive - New England Patriots

Brady is as savvy a NFL QB as you will find in the history of the game. Whether unpressured or under pressure, his numbers remain constant. And if the game against Pittsburgh is any indication, he finally has found a rhythm with his offensive weapons.

The good news for the Panthers is that Brady is a pure pocket passer.

Also good news is that our DBs are going to benefit from the west coast offense. We've been pressing receivers better than we ever have and with Luke and TD dropping back, we should frustrate Brady and force him to throw checkdowns.

Have to remember that their weapons are healthy now, fully healthy and chemistry has developed between him and his rookie receivers, plus you give Tom two weeks to prepare, especially now that his throwing hand is finally healthy and not swollen and you have your hands full, it doesn't matter how great the defense is, this is not the same offense before week 10, this is an entirely new animal at full strength and hitting on all cylinders that burned an 8th ranked Pittsburgh defense for a franchise high in points given up per one game... and with Shane Vereen, adding him to that equation makes it even harder to defend.

MAybe, but not so sure about that. The Panthers may prefer clock eating  scoring drives on the ground from the Patriots and take their chances on a low scoring game in the 4th quarter.

I think we will be the one trying to have clock eating drives and hope for a low scoring game in the 4th.  We haven't let anyone run all year.  This is not the dreaded Patriot offense of old.  The Bengals held them to 7 points at their place.

Most of the guys coming back are just back and chemistry takes time to develop.  With a mandatory 3 days off due to the CBA, the bye is not that better for prep.  It did allow a few guys to come back but as many teams lose after the bye as win.

Danny Amendola - only second game back with Brady after three weeks and with Gronk on the field at the same time.  Dobson has been developing each week, getting better and better, and now he gets it.  Took 10 games but it came, and he arrived and right on time.. Julian Edelman, nursing a leg injury since week 5 but played anyway, now his numbers will go back up.. the bye does help.

Yeah if that last post doesn't tell it all, your post quoted above surely does. Welcome to the huddle Trenches or should I say New England fan.

win this game:

1.  run that ball and score, eat up that clock.  If Brady is sitting on the bench, no scoring.

2.  Defense has to pressure him, and don't be fooled, Brady will run when that middle lane is there.

3.  no mistakes, no interceptions, no fumbles, not stupidness on special teams.

4.  every opportunity must be seized.

The Patriots are winners.   Over time they have won with:

1.   with no receivers.

2.   with no defense.

3.   wiith no running backs.

4.  without Brady's TEs

They are going to look at this game as a chance to beat down the latest 'team of the month' just the same as they did Houston last year.

The Panthers absolutely have to play flawless football in all phases and when they get opportunities, they must seize them.

Colin K is no Tom B and Tom B will make the Panthers pay for every mistake made by the Panthers offense and Defense.

All that said, I detest the Patriots and I pray for a W  on Monday night, I don't care how the Panthers do it, just please God, do it.

Here is Patriots QB Tom Brady's take on Monday night Panthers vs Patriots matchup:

{ “It’s a tough team. They’re physical. Their front seven is as good as anybody. Their pass rush, their run-stoppers, they’ve got playmakers in the secondary. It’s got to be our best game, there’s no doubt about it. … We’ll see what we’re made of.” }

Yes but they just dropped 55 on the 8th ranked defense in the league.
