Over a freakin 80 overall in Madden now?

Yes the main thing I think about after a huge win is, WHAT ARE OUR RATINGS IN MADDEN NOW???  But yes they should go way up on the defensive side of the ball.

I'm not sure whether you're being sarcastic or not.  But I actually do think about that.....and get excited about the thought.  Considering we all dropped 60 bones on that game and we want our team to be good on it.

Yes being sarcastic.  But being serious that I think the defense will get a boost in ratings and the team will be 80+.  They are 6-3.  If they aren't, whoever does the rankings is either a 49ers fan or just an idiot.

i wish i could get the D to play how they play in real life on the game. doesnt happen though. its hard to get pressure on this new Madden. its like everybody has an amazing oline

The trick is to use individual adjustments on the Dline.  I get a ton of coverage sacks on that game.  Especially since opponents seem to pick teams with running qbs.   Just spy the DE on the qb's dominant side and slide the opposite DE to the flat.   Every time the opposing qb tries to move outside the pocket you suffocate them. You'll give up 3 to 5 yards a carry if they run, but they don't beat running the ball the whole game plus the more they run...bigger chances of a fumble.  This strategy is especially effect in goal line defense.

After the offense get's used to seeing a spy and linemen dropping into coverage, then you set them up with the blitz.  Sort of like play action for the defensive front 7.

what about a pocket qb

Pocket Qb's actually are a bit easier.  When you're making individual Dline adjustments you can still keep one DE as a spy.  This protects the short middle while still providing support on outside runs.   Then you can either rush the opposite DE, or (what I prefer) drop the opposite DE into a middle zone to protect the area that was vacated by the middle linebacker.  I've gotten so many interceptions this way because the opponent wasn't expecting see DE's drop back in coverage.   This strategy works mainly for 4-3 defenses because the DE's are more athletic at least according to Madden.
