Is this enough for Rivera to stay

I have to admit, he has grown as much as the team thus far! I'd love to see us stomp NE and NO at least once. He certainly had to be rehired considering 10-6 will be a playoff spot. I think we finish 12-4. He certainly seems to be on course for a 1 year addition without question unless everything turn sour. Not going to happen though because we have a confidence long forgotten in Carolina going on now. Winning is awesome!

No. If we were to roll off a bunch of losses in a row it will be right back where he started.

I said this after week 2, but Rivera's stuff will play itself out. 90% of you guys were GMs you would have fired him after Buffalo.

I have the same stance today as I did then. It will work itself out. We will see where we shake out at the end if the season.

Good post Teeray. And things have been good since Buffalo. But man.... can you imagine if we had hung onto that one in Buffalo as we should have. It almost makes me sick. We would be 7-2 right now in the drivers seat!

The call to throw it on 3rd down towards the end of the game instead of trying to run it and chew up another one of their timeouts shows how much Rivera has grown as a coach. He's outside of his comfort zone and the team is thriving from this new aggressive play calling

The second the 2nd down play ended I was wondering if we'd continue to see the new ron and throw it or if he'd go back to being conservative due to the tight game. I love new ron.

He stays but we do not have to make the playoffs for him to stay. You have to remember that we have a very weak and banged up O-line. We also have some hurney magic left over in contracts. We spend some early draft picks on the O-line and purchase a decent threat on the outside to go with smith and olsen...we are looking scary next year. Imagine if we had a solid o-line with how we want to run the ball.

Also every year the team has improved on RR, if you were to fire him after barely missing the playoffs then no coach of any caliber is going to come here. Also winning and getting to the playoffs is hard in the NFL. I just dont see a collapse coming right now and that is the only reason he would be let go.
