How the fug....

We could have beat the Seahawks if Dwill hadn't fumbled in the red zone as well.  It had been bothering me for awhile thinking about what our record could be this season.  But honestly, had we won those games against the weaker teams (bills, cardinals) I don't think we would be as tough and prepared for the playoffs.  Once Ron's job was on the line because of the losses, he changed.  He started going for it on forth down.  Throwing the ball on 3rd and 9 with under two minutes as oppossed to killing clock and hoping we outlast the other team.

This team has made a 180 starting with the coaches and working its way down.  I will take the aggressive Ron and Co. into the playoffs all day compared to the coaching staff at the start of the season.  And if we hadn't went 1-3 to start out, I don't think he would have ever made the changes needed.  It sucks to have those losses on our record.  But in the end it was needed.  And a strong push in the playoffs makes us forget all about it!

Here we come Saints.  Better start puting your bounties out.  Cause we are about to overthrow you.

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
