At one point in my life I thought it was acceptable to beat your wife.( I was a kid, and that's all I ever saw around me). However, as I grew older, I realized I was wrong. I was wrong to join for college money. I can admit that. That doesn't mean I can't call others out for making the same mistake I made, and that isn't even the root of the problem. Also I worked my ass off everyday. I worked for my GI Bill, I honestly believe that, and my opinion runs rampant at college campuses all over the country.

When you try to equate the u.s military to gangs you don't deserve intelligent conversation because you are incapable of being intelligent to begin with. That's a completely Asinine comment, you deserve the shaming you are receiving.

Generally speaking I don't support the current state of the US Military because since 911 it has been the rallying cry behind money hungry corporations that get billions from the government to perform some nonessential function, thus keeping us in long wars for no reason. In theory, the national guard is tasked with protecting the US mainland anyway.

To answer your question, no. I don't think ensuring Coca Cola is profitable overseas is worth one drop of human drop.

 

Every American war that has been ever been fought has been about preserving or expanding America's economic power.  Including the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, The Civil War (true for both sides), and both World Wars.

 

Economic power also allows for wars to be won without ever being fought.

 

Point being, protecting economic interests is also what allows us to win wars that are never even fought on a battlefield.
