Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has stepped up his game and scored in double figures in four of the last seven games. During the seven-game stretch, he is averaging 12.9 points on .593 shooting from the field (35-for-59) and .769 shooting from the free-throw line (20-for-26), to go with 6.0 rebounds, 1.4blocks and 1.0 assist.

He is defeinitely stepping up.  But, I still expected more from a player drafted that high.

Then it's likely you haven't been following the NBA very long. MKG is the same age as most college sophomores right now. He's more comparable to guys coming out of high school in the late 90's and early 00's than most traditional picks now. Going by age alone, he's more like a 2014 pick than a 2012 pick. Check on how many of those guys came out as strong as MKG. Not many.

Patience is a virtue with these teenagers. MKG can't even legally get a beer and we're talking about expecting more? I won't even begin to worry unless he's not getting 15 points a game next season.

Be interesting to see if you feel this way about Hornets guard Dante Exum next year when this super-duper 2014 draft class isn't up to snuff right out of the gate.

Any team that expects a rookie to save them deserves whatever disappointment befalls them. We're still a couple of years, and drafts, from having a decent team even if everything goes exactly right. The band aid crew we brought in now is built to top out at 35 wins, if that, and win most assuredly nothing in the postseason. Anything beyond the development of MKG, Bismack, Zeller, and PERHAPS even Kemba should be a bonus. Kemba isn't the PG this team needs. He's not a distributor and he's not good enough offensively to take as many shots as he needs to get his points. Exhibit 3,663 on why drafting college successes instead of projecting basketball players is the wrong course to take. Right Adam Morrison, Sean May, D.J. Augustin, and Emeka Okafor?

You lost any and all credibility you had when you said it's worth developing BISMACK BIYOMBO and Cody Zeller but not Kemba.

Kemba, aside from Al Jefferson, is the best player on this team. Not good enough offensively to take as many shots as he needs to get his points?? Seriously?? You must think DRose sucks too, then.

I feel like Kemba is a bad team scorer and since he's a point guard that can't distribute, he's not going to have much value to a good team unless he can shoot a higher percentage, distribute, and make better decisions in general. He's under 40% shooting for his career. That's not going to get it done. Rose shoots 46%.

Kenna is under .40% on the season not his career, his career fg% is .423

MKG still has the most upside of any player on the team and he's a high energy 14-7-2-1-1 guy.

That should tell everyone how far away this team is and how badly they need a superstar and a couple other draft hits as well to go along with what's here.
