Refreshing to See: Expert Picks [ESPN]

Funny, I am a 49er fan and I'm picking the Panthers.

Whats up with everyone saying this is the Panthers most important game in 5 years? I've read it a few times on here.

this is the first time we've been over .500 since '08.

now we get to find out if what we have is real or not. the 49ers on the road is the biggest test this team has had since they found their groove a few weeks ago.

if we can beat you guys in san fran, i think we will be known as a real legit threat in the league. following up with a win against the pats at home on MNF the next week is also a big deal, tho i think that this week is the bigger test for us.

i think we can lose this one and still make it to the playoffs, but winning this one will prove that we've "arrived", imo.

trying to figure out why no one picking us is refreshing.

i personally hate that this team flies so far under the radar. i hate that this team has crapped the bed so much for so long that so many have very little faith that this team can be great and beat the best teams. i hate that we earned that.

i can't wait for us to win these next two games and the panthers have their coming out party that puts them smack dap on top of that radar. the panthers need to do something that puts the league on notice and  puts the spotlight directly on them.

so you don't want that? only way this team is going to stay under the radar is to disappoint again and go back to their losing ways.

if we keep winning, people are going to expect that to continue...and that's a good thing.

Panthers play better under the radar, when they are put on a pedestal, they fall!example-2004 SI predicted they would win the Superbowl and the team imploded that season,I like under the radar, the opposing team never saw them coming!

i don't buy it.

if that is true, then we are doomed to be forever irrelevant and mediocre.

the only ones who stay under the radar are perennial losers and underachievers. you win and keep winning and you start getting noticed.

this whole flying under the radar is for people scared of success. I've had more than enough flying under the radar. it's time to get noticed. it's time to start knocking poo down that's in your way and claiming the mountain as yours.

Looking at this game w/o beer goggles on, you see a 9er team with a much better o-line and receivers, but everything else seems to be somewhat equal. The one other thing the 9ers have that this Panther squad does not have is big game experience... could be the difference

better oline? yeah. not much better because that OL hasn't been doing as well as last year.

much better receivers? lol maybe if everyone is healthy but right now....nah. i think they are pretty evenly matched at the moment.
