Hope this turns out better than "Agents of Shield"

The rumors turned out to be true, for once — well, almost. Marvel Studios today announced that it would be creating four new television series, plus an additional “mini-series event,” in partnership with ABC Studios to debut on Netflix.

The new series will focus on the company’s “ground level” super-characters, launching with Daredevil, then Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage before all four characters combine Avengers-style for the mini-series The Defenders.

I'm still completely baffled why they thought it was a good idea to make a show about SHIELD set in the Marvel Universe, but instead of draw from the hundreds of awesome characters which already exist, make up their own. I never felt in any way like I was watching a show related to Marvel.

Curious to see how Heroes for Hire will go... Agents of SHIELD has been pretty up and down so far. They keep trying to rip off too much Whedon humor and the lead girl is just annoying, but it has had some decent episodes when it takes itself seriously. Haven't seen this week's episode but have it DVR'd.

Anyways, I think a Daredevil series could work really well on TV the more I think about it.

Aren't there really strict limitations ABC has for using specific Marvel characters on TV?  Something about not taking away from their box office potency, I'd imagine.  Or I could just be making that up in my head with a whole lot of other random thoughts.

Probably, but I'm not exactly asking for Captain America in the show. There are hundreds of awesome B level characters to use. Them making up a whole team of new people, especially the super powered people, made the show feel counterfeit and generic to me.

If I'm in charge of the show, I'd make Maria Hill the star, give it a serious vibe, and give her a supporting cast of lesser known agents and heroes like Clay Quartermain with maybe occasionally a hero the level of like She-Hulk when they can get away with it.

It always felt more like Buffy than anything Marvel to me. A big group of people all quipping with the same sense of humor and competing for screen time.

Arrow is the best comic show.  Shield is pretty cringeworthy right now.  Arrow's first season was good, definitely got better as the season got in, but this season 2 has been really awesome and like mentioned, Flash will be involved this season in Arrow and then get his own show.  They are already dropping easter eggs about it.

If they put decent money and production value these 4 shows could be good.  Get decent actors.  I'd like to see Michael C Hall play Daredevil.  Make the shows gritty, and I think you can with these Heroes for Hire guys.
