The severity of it recently yes, but it was a weak point in preseason too, and it has only gotten worse.

 

Also didn't help that the guard we reached for in the draft could barely practice a handful of times before getting IR'd.

 

So you suggest they have kept 8 guards? That sounds rational.

 

Yes, because I literally said "Let's sign, and keep 8 UDFA guards that wouldn't even be backups anywhere else".

If nothing else, Hangman added experience and depth. He should have never been dropped, and some of us said as much WHEN he got axed. But, no harm, no foul. I suppose it's just the nature of the beast. G-man obviously felt the need to gamble. At least it wasn't as questionable as cutting Drayton Florence. That one was the real head scratcher, that could have turned into a head banger had Florence been picked up.

I think this was a very good move since we had no backup at center or guard.

 

He is better than any replacement that I know of plus I've never noticed a drop off when he's in there. Sure he misses sometimes but don't they all.
