PS4 or Xbox1?

At least initally...this pushback is coming from the developers..but PS4 just made some changes to their policy but are backtracking a bit.

http://www.justpushstart.com/2013/11/sony-denies-change-policy-selling-used-playstation-4-games/

"Everybody knows what Sony’s stance on used games and the ability to sell them for the PlayStation 4 has been for awhile now. This stems from their announcement that you can do pretty much anything you did in past generations at E3, including them making a little promo video poking fun at Microsoft’s decision not to at the time. However, a little bit of an uproar occurred today when somebody noticed a change in Sony’s terms of service on their website.

The terms of service on the Sony website now has a section that says “”You must not resell either Disc-based Software or Software Downloads, unless expressly authorized by us and, if the publisher is another company, additionally by the publisher.” This obviously seems to differ greatly from their previous stance and an odd change to change right before the launch of the new console."

WTF!?

Again, Sony reps have already explicitly stated this week that if you buy a disc based game you are free to trade/sell it. There may be a licensing fee for MP from a third party developer in the future, but that hasn't been confirmed or denied yet.

Lucky you then. Hardware failure is a fact of life for a computer owner.

This "nut" really hopes steam box is successful, and I also hope that all video game systems perform well. Fundamentally a strong video game ecosystem (fell like such a douche using that term) only helps those who love games, which I think all of us fall into based on our participation in this thread.

Looking at the PS4 launch event last night, and the week's worth of run up, I am still waiting to see a system worth dropping my cash on.

and steam will strengthen that ecosystem by bringing competition to the table in ways that consoles have never seen before

i've only known one person that's actually had a hard drive fail, and that's the only hardware failure i've ever known anyone to have.

RROD on the other hand, I know at least 5 people that dealt with that poo

I got both PC and Xbox. I play sport games on Xbox and first person shooter on PC. My PC is 4 years old Dell i7 with badass hard drive and graphics. I never had any issues so far. I play PC games more than xbox games. I'd highly recommend PC for FPS. Way better experience than Xbox or ps4.

pc gaming just isn't anywhere near as awesome without Steam

i remember getting laughed at a few years ago when i told people Steam would save PC gaming.   now they're bringing it to the mainstream.

will it put ps4 or xbox1 out of business?   or nintendo?   i have no idea.

but it brings more to the table for someone that wants more than being shoved inside a pen with a bunch of hormonal 13 year olds, and have their actions limited and dictated by a board of directors while paying for piss poor support

tired of paying to be treated like a child by Microsoft?

come on over to Steam where we have groups, chat rooms, profiles, VOIP, dedicated servers, mods, (steam is tied in to facebook and twitter so i see no reason why steam OS wouldn't support those as well) and better multiplayer support than you can imagine

there's nothing consoles offer anymore that pc gaming didn't do first and better

    • Super raw, not sure he is worth a top 10 pick.  Primary a pass rusher.  A bit like Burns, very fast athletic but doesnt always follow the play.  His highlights look good but when you watch him play you can see he is just raw and needs to develop
    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
