PS4 or Xbox1?

For me, Titanfall looks to be my only reason to buy a next gen console.  It just looks fun, and the other reviewers who I agree with seem to also find it fun despite not being big into FPSs.  Then again, you can get it to play well on a halfway decent (and relatively cheap) PC.

Really, neither console has done much for me to really want it.  Second Son does absolutely look great.  Those that care only about how pretty things are will love it.  Total next gen eye candy.  I just never got into the games. I got Infamous on my PS3 due to the sony hacking stuff, but I didn't put in more than 3 hours before I kind of got bored.  But a similar open world game like Crackdown, was so stupidly fun for me.  I don't like the GTA series so I'm an odd ball here.

I'm sure those that enjoy their games will say that their console is better, but I still don't see an experience that's $400-500 better than my current 360/PS3.  I'll probably adopt when I'm forced to, but right now it's a big "yawn" for me.

Also because I'm feeling really old and tired lately...

The first Crackdown was genius. But how could you like that and not like GTA?

To be honest, I'm not sure why I never got into the GTA series. Years ago, I just wasn't interested in playing a gangster. Now I just don't have time. Heck, I bought GTA4 last summer for my brother in law to play on a beach trip... Haven't touched that one lol.

I'm thinking about GTA5 because of the Conan Obrien review... That was hysterical. Well armed thugs at a strip club who can shoot down a helicopter... One of these days I'll have to try it out.

Won't keep a charge. I basically have to play with it plugged in. Maybe its just me though,

It's just you. I can go a couple of days without charging. Then again, I MAKE SURE mine is fully charged. At some point during the day, I play, then I cut it to standby mode and plug in the controller. leave for like, 4-5 hours, come back. fully charged and I won't have to do it again for a couple days unless I play alllll day long.

You COULD have a bad battery in yours, though. Not sure. Make sure you have power-savers cut on for it. Mine cuts off after like, 5 or 10 minutes of not being used. For those "oh poo" moments where you have to put the controller down quickly and wont come back to it for 30 minutes.

Yea that's only you. Charge doesn't last as long as the X1 or PS3 controller, but it's definitely now to the point that you feel like you can't play for an extended period of time on the controller. I've ran the battery down from full to zero just once. It was the first day I got the console, and did a marathon 12 hours of gaming between 2K14, Fifa 14, Killzone and Assassins Creed. Definitely think yours has a bad battery. Unfortunately with any electronics there's always some duds.

The only reason a PS4 or XBone is even remotely on my radar is because of Alien:Isolation, which is also coming to PS3, 360, and PC (don't currently have a PC that can play it). The games have just seemed very weak thus far.

Yep, that's the big thing.  The games are still coming out on the legacy consoles.  The problem with this generation of consoles is that there is a BIG squeeze from mobile, and the graphical improvements are shrinking.  I also don't think that the industry is as ready to move on as the console makers.  While there are some bright spot like Titanfall and 2nd Son (depending on how well you like those kind of games), there's nothing super "ohhh me wants!" like the Uncharted games or the Halo series (say what you will, they both moved a heck of a lot of consoles!).

We're all still waiting for that Killer App to emerge.  For me, the game play has to be really engaging, fun with a sense of challenge versus accomplishment.  We'll see what happens in the next few months.  I want to see how Destiny rolls out.  I've been keeping up with it, and I'm so curious to see what the reality is when it's live (I've signed up for the eventual Beta...).

I'm still hoping for some better games, more fun, more development.  Here's to continuing to hope for a better gaming future.  Though I'll still be playing clash of clans on the potty! =P

    • Super raw, not sure he is worth a top 10 pick.  Primary a pass rusher.  A bit like Burns, very fast athletic but doesnt always follow the play.  His highlights look good but when you watch him play you can see he is just raw and needs to develop
    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
