Ted Ginn - Difference Maker

I wanted it in one of our drives this past Sunday, but I want it even more against SF. First play of one of our drives. Play-action deep ball to Ginn. The guy is so damn fast, and as long as the safeties and corner bite a LITTLE bit, Ginn is gone. Cam won't need more than a few seconds to chuck it deep to him and as long as he doesn't get too happy with it, we're looking at a TD.

We need Ginn to have those big plays on deep balls to free up Smith even more. Can't double both of those guys the whole game with Olsen, Lafell, and the RBs coming out of the backfield. If we see that play at some point Sunday, expect us to route these guys, because our defense will step up. Sure, they got Kaep...but our defense has to practice against Cam, and Cam > Kaep. Also, Kaep isn't running away from TD and Kuechly. Not happening. Those two are way too fast for that.

I hope we don't throw any more 30-yard bombs on 3rd and 2.  That poo was frustrating as hell against the Falcons the other day.

This for damn sure.  I don't mind mixing in the occasional one, but I'd prefer that we not run them constantly, especially on a day where Cam isn't throwing the ball downfield well.

He has over thrown Ginn several times earlier in the season. You're underestimating Cams arm.

Actually I am not.   I know he has over thrown him quite a bit but the key is getting some air under it.  He has the Arm strength to probably throw 50 or 60 yards on a rope but give it some air and give Ginn a chance to run

If you notice the TD he threw to Ginn it was short, Ginn had to wait for it.

I know how hard it is to lead a speedster.   Quick math, you have to know his speed and where he'll be and be able to drop it in.   That takes tons of practice.

This isn't your daddy's Carolina Panthers. As mentioned above, these guys love the attention and seem to play on it. Long gone are the days where they seemed to poo the bed on the big stage once the pressure got up to them and preferred coasting under the radar.

Say what you will but in today's day and age of social media them playing this way is huge. The more exposure this team gets the better. The better the perspective. The better the fan experience (for the home team at least) we've seen this year these guys playing their best football when the fans get loud and rowdy. This team gives them something to get loud about. The better the prime time scheduling and it will help to lure free agents in. These guys may give a small (not talking 5 million under market value) discount for the chance to play for a team that gets exposure, primetime games and is lead by one of the premier super stars in the game with Cam Newton.

Get excited. It's still very premature but this coming game could very easily be the start of the Carolina Panthers' dynasty.... Sounds good doesn't it?

Definitely does. Have to say that the team of the 2010s has yet to emerge. Each decade has had its dynasty. The Packers in the 60s, the Steel Curtain in the 70s, the 9ers in the 80s, the Cowboys in the 90s, and the Pats in the 2000s. Some team is gonna win three Superbowls. Why not us?

No doubt. We could have scored 40+ points if we'd had smart play calling on those third and shorts. I don't mind mixing things up occasionally with a long bomb surprise on 3rd and short, but to do it three times in a single game is a bit much. We likely would have gotten the first down on at least two of those.
