Its a Red Sox tradition that is copied everywhere now.

Amy Tobey, whose job from 1998 to 2004 was to decide which music would be played at Fenway Park, told the Globe that she had noticed the song at other sports events and decided to try it over Fenway's speakers.

They did not originate it.

It isn't nearly as bad as the over played techno song that seems to play in most college and NFL stadiums. Gamecock fans know what song I am talking about.

Oh and Seven Nation Army seems to be trending now too. Drives me crazy!

I don't know that it was copied everywhere... I think it is more of a coincidence that multiple teams around the country play it as a victory song. Same as multiple teams playing the "YMCA" or "Whoop There it is"...

The Boston Redsox just made Sweet Caroline mainstream by winning World Series titles.. As many other fans have stated, Carolina has been playing Sweet Caroline after wins at home since before the Boston RedSox finally won a world series.

Sweet Caroline needs to go. Is it good? Yep. But since other teams use it, it has no originality or meaning. Not to mention we didn't even use it first.

What could the Panthers play as originality for Carolina??? Petey Pablo's Raise Up after a win?? Hahaha that would be hilarious to bring that song back..
