Geoff has been pretty bad the past couple years and again, for those who still can't come to grips with it, pretty much volunteered himself to be released because he told the coaching staff his body was breaking down and couldn't do the rigors of training camp anymore.

 

 

Still though, it was a needed signing and you'd like to think that a nice break without TC will be a boon to him.

With Byers going to IR we would not have a backup center for Kalil. Which is why Geoff was called before anyone else. He can back up pretty much all 5 line positions. Versatility counts. For that reason, I'm glad he's back.
