just heard on espn. details forthcoming. apologies if already posted.

CB Eric Wright was drafted by the Browns, played for the Lions in 2011 when we played them, spent a season in Tampa Bay in 2012 when we played them twice, and was traded to the 49ers in the offseason.

Our current offensive roster has played him three times, so that's good news.

As a 49ers fan, this makes no sense. Eric Wright is horrible, and Nnamdi played solid in the few games he played.

I have a feeling Nnamdi goes back to Oakland. He won't have to move his family, and as Nick Foles showed us, the Raiders desperately need help.

Nnamdi is still a very good press man corner on the right side of the field, I don't know why the Eagles and 49ers moved him the the left, or forced him into more zone coverage.

are carlos rogers and tarell brown still your starting CBs? it looks like asomugha was second string anyway, so it's not like this would effect the starting lineup.

either way i expect we'll take advantage of this by spreading that secondary out on the field. expect to see a lot of smith/lafell/ginn sets to see if we can get anyone lined up against wright.

Eric and Nnamdi are like the same player. Both started out has absolute studs then fell off hard...We can only hope the coaches seen something in practice that made them go with Wright over Nnamdi.

Yes, those are the starters, and Brock is the #3, and has been VERY good.

No, he won't make a huge difference, I just don't agree that the guy he was cut for is better. Nnamdi came in on a min contract and his contract was all incentives. No reason to cut him AT ALL.

Because "a lot of guys are winning with 2's and 3's". Our best corner for years could damn near lock wide out's all day but he would still draw penalties in the flow of the game. I s'pose the philosophy is that if a top 3 corner is gonna draw flags at bad times then what difference does it make. Take care of whats up front first and the guys in the back will flourish regardless.

Yeah, but sometimes they move him over and put Rogers in the slot. Brock was the starter two years ago and got hurt, then Culliver was inserted and played masterfully and never lost his spot. It's ashame we lost Culliver before the season started.

Oh, and we cut Marcus Cooper just before the season started and he's now graded as the 4th best CB in the NFL  for the Chiefs and only played in 5 games.

We had an embarressment of riches to start the year.

What about San Diego? Just another Cali team he wouldn't have to more for.

Nnamdi has to go through claims, so we're going to be there the bottom of the list.  I'd claim him for war secrets and to see what he has left. He's only making vet minimum.

As for Eric Wright, he gets burned a lot.  Never liked his game.

That is for players with less then 4 accrued years.

    • Here comes Frankw and his pathetic little persecution complex to claim I have a personal vendetta against one of the worst performing coaches in the league if anything I should love Canales because he’s walking proof that through the lord all things AREN'T possible.  This kind of performance is exactly what you’d expect from someone who filled the building with misunderstood Bible quotes about iron forging iron and inspired speeches about how he apologized for his infidelity by buying his wife a book deal.  once more into the breech dear friends, just like when I paid a stripper for an above the pants hand job in Orlando.
    • As dumb as it probably sounds, we should have won that game.  Defense was bad but Bryce should have been better.  Pass rush isn't a good enough excuse.
    • You and I both know there isn't a coach we could or can still hire that can "fix" Bryce Young. Even at mighty Alabama with one of the best modern coaches in college football history Mac Jones was still a better QB than Bryce Young. Mac Jones.... We already know how you feel about Canales on a personal level so in that regard you wanting him fired is not news. You don't have to disguise it behind this shroud of rabble about not fixing Bryce Young. To his credit he somehow had us competive against the Chiefs and the Eagles on the road with #9. But no coaching staff can overcome their starting QB turning the ball over 4 times. We definitely have developed some of our younger offensive pieces. And as far as Evero goes he has earned criticism and if he's fired so be it but in his defense many of us said in the offseason this defensive roster was a disaster waiting to happen given the resources we spent on the offense while neglecting the defense. That was Dan Morgan's plan. He swung too hard toward offense to salvage the Bryce Young trade. That's on him. We can scream about XL all we want but at least he's actually been on the field for the most part. The Brooks pick was a luxury pick at the time and now it is a Hurney level blunder. Dan Morgan has gotten a lot of early praise here when in reality he's unequivocally deserving of significant criticism. But if you say that some people get up in arms because he's a former Panther. Big whoop. He has just as much to prove this upcoming season as Canales. That's why to me in my own personal opinion I say one more season and then if it's more of the same say goodbye to both.
