Its really funny to hear fans of other teams try to tell me about MY team. Its really a joke.

 

I wouldn't propose to break down any Panther game and explain why the win was any more or less impressive. Hearing you guys say stuff about the quality of the Niner wins is comical. Its even funnier when I read stuff about the yards that team A put up with zero context whatsoever.

 

The niners over the past 5 games have been up HUGE in 4 of their 5 games. Up 28-3 vs the Rams. Up 34-3 to Houston. Up 24-0 vs Tenn. Up 28-0 vs th Jags. All of these teams suck pretty hard right now so this isn't meant as a "we are the best team in the world post". The point is that the Niners have spent ALOT of time in prevent and given up alot of points and yards late in game and are STILL ranked 6th in the NFL. 11 points to the Rams. 17 to Tenn. 10 to Jacksonville....all garbage time.

 

This will be a good hard faught battle on Sunday, but can we stop with the team a won by x number of points debate?

They are 1-2 and given up 28 points per game.

Then they have shut down the likes of

A Schaub/Yates combo

Palmer (actually didn't shut him down, they just had 6 turnovers and still scored 20 points)

Jake Locker (who threw for 321 yards)

Chad Henne

Yes the teams we beat also sucked, but at least we were shutting down the likes of Adrian Petersen, Eli Manning, and Matt Ryan who whom are proven commodities in the NFL.

And we pretty much shut down ole Russell also.

I wouldn't say we shut down Russell. We did take him out of his game, but that backfired on us when he posted his first 300 yard game.

Just wanted to chime in and correct some incorrect "facts" laid out by a couple of the resident 49er fans here.

 

#1 - The score was very much indicative of the game. We turned you over 5 times in that game and held Gore to 16 yards.

 

#2 - You were stomped (see #1). And the score was actually 22-3 with 11:36 left in the 4th quarter.

 

Lol - shouldn't you be licking your wounds from that 0-8 team that took you to OT in the vaunted Clink? I was talking about the Zona game and you guys claiming you killed them.  You didn't.  Like I said 11 points came off of -2 yards of offense.  They had 6 turnovers and still scored 20 points.  Entering the 4th quarter the score was 22-20 so you didn't have a big lead.

 

 

Also, we have given up several garbage points ourselves after the game was out of hand.

 

Every game we have won has been a blow out, so you aren't the only ones giving up garbage points

Please. ole Russell threw for a career regular season best 320 yards vs the Panthers with a 115.7 QB rating. He threw for 142 yards and a 63.9 rating vs SF...IN SEATTLE.

 

Lets at least be realistic.

 

They lost that game in Seattle, but the D wasn't the reason why. They BEAT Rodgers and lost to Luck (who threw for a season low 159 yards)...again, not because of the D.

Thanks man. I've given the Panthers the respect they deserve, I'm just surprised so many are doing everything they can to not respect the 49ers. I'd expect a couple trolls here and there, but even Moderators or guys who say they watched every game we played are still not giving us credit. We were one play away from being Superbowl champs and have teh 2nd best record in the conference, and you guys are coming to our place.

 

I'm just surprised the Panthers fans aren't worried about this game like the rational 49ers fans are.

You guys have actually been better than most.  Rams fans were the worst we have had by far.

 

Atlanta fans were pretty bad to, but they started talking smack to soon and Arizona crushed their souls a week before we played so they didn't return for the build up.
