So, according to PFF Kuechly is struggling

Isn't it hard to get defensive stops behind the line of scrimmage when the team is throwing it constantly because they are down by 14+ points?

Being at the game, I saw both Star and Keek have a ton of tackles. But according to the stat sheet. Only 2 tackles for Keek plus 6 assists and 0 tackles for Star and 3 assists. Hmm something doesn't add up.

Other than that if a team is passing it all the time because we are winning it will lower production from our MLB. I know im a genius.

Said it elsewhere: that wasn't Luke's fault. Mikell was supposed to be bracketing Gonzo high, but he went off the grid.

Now, in the run game, Luke has been having issues getting off blocks. One of Jackson's big runs that got Atlanta off the goal line came from Luke getting manhandled. It's something he still has to work on.

Ahh k, yeah Im not sure it wouldve made a difference anyways. It didnt look like he was gonna drop anything yesterday. The only "drops" he had were when we stole it from him is what it seemed.

nice to see that his stats are down and the defense is still dominating. much like cam on the offense, true success comes when you don't have one guy carrying the load for everyone else. that, to me, was hurney's biggest philosophical flaw: he took the mentality of building around core players to the extreme and we ended up with guys that were both being built around and being paid to the point where they were effectively doing multiple players jobs (because the only other guys we could afford were often not qualified to be on an NFL roster.)

i don't think there's a coincidence in the fact that gettleman's taking of the helm has neatly matched this change in performance dynamics on the field.

I got bashed on the "Psychoanalysis" of Cam thread yesterday for pointing out the same mistakes RR cited about an hour later in his presser.  Hence, it wasn't deserved, but you guys who actually believe Luke isn't already an elite MLB, having a sophomore slump, makes too many mistakes etc., are definetely the ones who need their heads examined.

I just want to add (and I haven't read the whole thread, so sorry if this was already said), I was at the game. Watching the RBs for Atlanta....they were avoiding Kuechly at all costs. They wanted NO part of him after that hit on the first (might have been second) defensive series on the pass to the flat.

1. That particular play, he looked like he got shot out of a fuging cannon. The guy in front of me said "holy poo!" the second he started running, and then "my god!" at the hit. It was honestly a little terrifying how fast Kuechly looks in person.

2. Seriously, when I say "RBs were avoiding Kuechly", I mean it. They ran a lot of zone cutbacks because they know Kuechly flows better than any LB in the game. He sees the line move, he goes with it and finds the gap to shoot, and more often than not, it's a tackle that he is in on. But it wasn't just the cutbacks by design, it was like the RBs knew "OK, find Kuechly, run the other way". It was honestly funny to watch at times.

I think Luke is the best MLB in the game.  His instincts are off the charts and he has the ability and speed to make the plays.  I do think that his one real area of weakness is shedding blocks.  You can see when a linemen or even a running back gets a block on him it holds him up long enough for the RB to get by or the QB to make the pass.

I've seen us use Luke to blitz quite a bit and he always seems to get stonewalled by the blocker.  Same thing when an o-linement locks up with him on a running play.  The problem is getting to him.  He's so smart and fast at flowing the ball the linemen can't get to him.

And people say *I* make dumb threads...

My thread is actually including statistical data, while yours is merely unpopular opinion pulled from your ass. Kuechly was the highest graded MLB for the first four weeks, the Rams planned around him, he missed a bunch of tackles vs the Bucs(Even Al Wallace mentioned it twitter) and he gave up a TD to Gonzalez.

Why are some people so sensitive when it comes to our players? lol Luke is still human after all and if he's had a slight drop off in stats in the last couple of games while still playing great, it's not that big of a deal.

I'm sure Luke and the coaches will be working hard in the week to correct his mistakes and continue his improvement.

Do other fan boards start threads on how badly their best players are playing according to PFF when that player, that defense, that team has been destroying teams for weeks on-end?
