So... Panthers control their own destiny.... right?

Are you sure?  10 wins should put them in automatically as a wild card given the weak NFC East.  Even if it doesn't, these teams in the NFC control their destiny:

Saints

Seattle

San Fran

Arizona

Chicago

Detroit

Green Bay

Washington

Philly

Dallas

If any of those teams wins out, then they don't have to rely on any other team.  Again, it is an over used term.

How would Arizona make it? They would need either us to lose one game or SF to lose multiple games...I understand the point you are trying to make that it is very early to use that term all I am saying is not that many teams have the opportunity. Washington is not in either, even if they beat the cowboys next time they play they are still one game back and need them to lose another game just to have the same record. Again i get what you are saying I am just stating not all those teams control their destiny.

Has anyone consider the fact that we play the Ryan brothers for 3 consecutive weeks.  Think there will be any collusion between the Saints and Jets during that time period?  I believe that 3 game stretch will be the one that determines out playoff chances.

How exactly do you plan on doing that?

Hangartner is still available and we could easily get him back. Could use him to play some big time minutes and give guys a breather.

Chandler seems like a great athlete. With first team reps all week he might continue to surprise some people. We had some pretty nice runs to the right side of the formation in the 3rd quarter.

The 49ers is a whole 'nother monster. We need to be proactive rather than reactive.

The saints have a very tough set of games in front of them. They play the Cowboys next Sunday night, then the 49ers, then @ the falcons, @ the seahawks and then they get us. We could pass them in the rankings before we even play.

Cowboys is a toss up. @ hawks is a loss. @ falcons could be a loss

You're wrong.

If Atlanta wins out they would still need every single team in front of them to lose at least one game or more.

They would need San Fran or NO to lose at least 4 more games.

Carolina, Chicago, or GB, to lose at least 3 more games.

Arizona, Philly, or Washington to lose at least one more game.

If any one of those teams loses one less game than that, ATL is out, and this isn't even taking into account any possible tiebreakers that ATL might stand to lose.

Whereas, If the Panthers win out, they are division Champs, regardless of what any other team does, hence the term "controlling your own destiny".

The term may be over used, but it's relevant here.
