I almost got into a friendly argument this weekend. I think it is absolutely crazy to say you can't pull for another team that has an impact on your team. I'd much rather see Carolina succeed than I'd like to see Atlanta or New England fail. And believe me...the hate is strong with those two.

So when we blow the Minors out and the Aints magically get a loss, how would the tie breakers work out for the division lead?

Don't quote me. Head to head is 1st. Then Divisional Record, then Conference Record. Then you get things like common opp., and point differential.

The NFL is trying to make it fair for the Good Teams. Letting us use Swag points? I don't see that fitting into their little plan.

If the saints lose and we beat the niners The Saints will hold tiebreakers over us for now.

Saints 6-3  Panthers 6-3

  • Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).  N/A
  • Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.                 Both are 2-0
  • Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.      Saints  5-2   Panthers   4-3
  • Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
  • Strength of victory.
  • Strength of schedule.
  • Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
  • Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
  • Best net points in common games.
  • Best net points in all games.
  • Best net touchdowns in all games.
  • Coin toss
