that was a very open and honest interview.

 

and it is what i thought about Cam before this year. He was kind of a loner and had never stayed with a team for more than 2 years. he closed himself off. I think he's finally feeling comfortable with himself and opening himself up to his teammates. A lot of people overlook how much "team chemistry" plays apart in successful teams a la my boston red sox WS champions going from worst to first.

 

this 2013 panthers squad is unified, you can see it and sense it.

Its disrespectful when they say cam newton is evolving into a qb like he wasn't a qb before....dude set the record for most passing yards as a rookie...they won't use those words with andrew luck.

 

I keep telling you folks, those in the media believe they are gods and are the ones responsible for the success or failure of these players. They were the ones who felt that Cam wasn't qualified to be a starting QB during the draft, and needed to "prove himself." They are simply pushing their own script.

 

It's like those parent who has made up their minds that your mate will never amount to much and keeps acting like the accomplishments of that individual aren't really who he/she is.

Thanks for posting!

Just sat down and watched the whole thing. Must watch for panthers fans. Very open and honest interview. Best Cam interview I've ever seen.

This may be Cam's third year but he's still only 24 years old! Some of you people need to realize just how fugging lucky we are to have this guy as our QB.

I still remember walkin out of the Arizona stadium after Cam's first game when this little old lady comes up to me (I had a Newton jersey on) and says "you guys got yourselves a quarterback, he looked great".

I love Cam, no homo.

Great interview.  You can still see he is trying to watch every word that he says because he knows it will be used against him.  It really isn't fair.  He never was a bad guy.  Like everyone else, he has made mistakes, but he is obviously learning from them.  Those that dislike him, will continue to dislike him for his whole career.  There is nothing that he can do to change their mind.  Everytime he reaches the bar, they will just raise it higher.  I am glad that he is a Carolina Panther.  He truly is a one of a kind QB and glad that he is going to be growing as a man and a QB wearing the Panther Blue.  I do believe someday he will lead us to the promised land.  Not just getting to the super bowl, but winning our first.
