You also have to put in context the whole jock/locker room culture. But I thnk based on the info given out so far this was beyond hazing/initiation. One, Incognito has a track record of bad behavior everywhere he played. Also some of the stuff he did was in the off-season (april), so this was personal and has nothing to do with the team.. I still think there is more to this story. Incognito is a douche no doubt, but I'm not ready to put Martin on the crucifix just yet.

I do think it's interesting that the players in the locker room don't thin it's as big a deal as everybody else does... this leads me to believe a good deal of this is being overblown. Let's see how much of what else happened comes out.

neither does most of the fanbase. i wonder if there's a common denominator here hmmmmmmmmmmmm

That whole locker room is a big mess.  Theres having rookies and other guys paying for lunch or dinner, that happens, but to continue to use them as ATM machines and then stick 30k bills to a rookie player making minimum to the point hes broke is overdoing it.  Then the reports of Incognito allegedly saying racial comments and threats isn't helping.

yea this is a nightmare for Miami.

And I guess to put my two cents in.... I do think this is a little overblown and honestly Martin could have handled it better.

As somebody who was picked on, bullied and beat up by others because I was a different color of skin, I don't think Incognito should lose his job or anything. Martin IS a grown man and should have stood his ground. Or do what he did. But I think the bigger of the problems is the media explosion on this.

"OH NO HE'S GETTING BULLIED, HOW SAD" Meh. Like that text. Clearly taken out of context, it's obvious in that one Rich was joking. This should be dealt with within the team, INCLUDING coaches. Martin had a chance to say something to a coach, and chose not to. But now all the coverage, and you have people being asked "What do you think about this?" Well they can't say anything but, How bad and horrible Richie is!

Long story short.... Richie was wrong but this isn't a big deal.

Is rich a piece of dook and a huge jerk. Yes! But this isn't that big a deal. I don't think he's racist, he just used a racist word. It happens.

still not surprised by people trying to justify it or excuse it or make it into not a big deal. it happens everywhere that this type thing goes on.

and martin absolutely handled it well. he found a better way of dealing with it that will be much more effective and hurting incognito than any punch to the face. he's handling it in such a way that incognito's career is shot and the lockerroom, leaders, and organization that allowed it to happen and even enabled incognito to keep up this deplorable behavior is now marred. the fact that they are trying to downplay this instead of own up shows me the character of that organization.

i don't care about the "culture"...if it's wrong, it's wrong.

he delivered a kill shot without swinging a fist. seems like an effective way of dealing with it.

and by doing it this way instead of kicking incognito's ass, he avoided any chance of criminal charges being brought against him.

I could only make it through the first few pages of this thread. All the "he's a pussy" tough guy cliche responses are nauseating. This also comes down to the front office and coaches, it doesn't sound like Joe Philbin has control of his locker room. Makes him look bad.
