Jonathon Martin

Incognito is clearly a racist piece of crap.  Martin is obviously not a fighter; even as an NFL size dude that doesn't make him soft.  What is weak is that not one of his teammates who is a brawler (I'm sure there are a number of them) dealt with it.  It's a symptom of the losing culture in Miami, and an indication that they have a replaceable GM and coach.

Incognito clearly has his issues but I think Martin has a few too.

Didn't he walk out on them earlier in the year too.

Miami just signed McKinnie to take his spot at LT prior to this too. Did he even move to RT to replace Clabo?

He kinda sucked last year anyway I thought. Richie has issues but he can play G in the NFL at a high level.

He had drug problems earlier in his career, wouldn't be surprised if the old demons reared their ugly head.

Cris Carter just said on ESPN that he talked to Mike Wallace and Wallace said although he didn't have any issue with Incognito personally, if Incognito had said that to him, he would've "dealt with him" right there. Yet, he, nor anyone else on the Dolphins, cared enough about Martin to stand up for him.

Apparently, Martin was not well-liked in the locker room and I guess you could say he was aloof.

I think the fact that RIchie threaten to harm Martin's mother, takes this whole thing beyond an exchange of words between two teammates.

Richie is clearly a bit off his rocker and after reading what his dad's been posting online, I can see that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It will not shock me, in the very least, if we find out soon that Richie was emotionally abused by his father growing up and was always told he was a failure because the guy is layered with emotional baggage and so many demons that it is very sad to watch IMO. The drug abuse; all of it makes sense now. Richie has gotten to a point where he can never keep himself in check.

I'm not saying that Jonathan should not have handled the situation different, but when you start to make threats against people in your life... that's another story. At the end of the day, the NFL is a business and at any work place, you need to have a sense of professionalism.

Speaking of the crazy dad, if there has ever been a GREAT time for a troll on here... Somebody ought to create an account under his name and make a post asking if Carolina wants to hire his son who needs work.

Turns out it was all a false alarm, folks.

Former teammate Karlos Dansby told the Arizona Republic that Incognito is just "down to earth" (quoted in PFT)

I mean hey, I'm sure we can all see how 'down to earth' could easily be mistaken for being a violent, racist, psycho POS.

Right?

It sounds like Martin just isn't a social guy, just doesn't fit into the culture of football. This is an interesting issue, because where ever the guy goes people are going to act in a certain way towards him. He probably thinks that people are always picking on him, judging him, or messing with him.

My guess is that the guy has some mental health issues, which is absolutely fine. But it does create an awkward atmosphere, especially in a locker room I am assuming, when issues like this are public and known.

Eh. I dunno what to think of it, and I will be interested to see what the NFLPA comes up with. As we all know, BMarshall has come out in support of mental health, so it is a topic of interest now in football.

Based on what I know it is Richie that has the reputation of being the dirtiest player in football.I think it is wrong to characterize Martin to be anything but a victim based on what has surfaced.

yeah i heard it too... i think anyone in that locker room but jonathon martin wouldve handled it with a fist to richie's nose, and that in turn is likely the reason why it was martin who was the victim

He also said from what he hears out of the dolphins locker room is they'd rather have richie back instead of jonathon martin... how pitiful

Cooper seemed contrite and his teammates seem to have forgiven him. I'm still surprised some safety hasn't laid him out though :-)

But it sounds like Ingognito is a certified card carrying scumbag though. fugg that guy man.

My only theory is that Martin probably didn't wanna be that young player that's rocking the boat and may be felt he'd mess up team chemistry. As a new employee, sometimes it takes some time to separate what is company culture and jokes from actual douchebaggery. I'm thinking that's why martin thinks why Martin took it laying down.

And the article also says Incognito is part of the dolphins leadership council [facepalm] I'll be surprisde if dude plays again in the league

Yeah it sounds like Martin had nobody to back him up. Incognito had free reign to do anything he wanted to Martin and the players and coaches were not going to do anything about it. Toxic culture.

So Martin blew up in his own way and refused to raise fists. Good for him and sad that he is the bad guy.

F the dolphins, F the coaches. F incognito and F his dad.

“Shame on you for attaching my name to false speculation. I won’t be holding my breath for an apology,” he wrote. Finally, in a tweet sent to ESPN, CBS Sports, NBC Sports, Fox Sports and Pro Football Talk, Incognito wrote, “I want my name CLEARED,” apparently denying he played a part in Martin’s decision to leave the team.

Unfortunately guys like this will never admit fault
