FAQ's for the Huddle Champions League

So, why is it that a 2 point conversion only counts for 1 point? Also, why would a defense/special teams TD only count for 4 points?? Just wondering.

Because those are the values that were decided upon prior to the season as creating the best fantasy balance between positions. A two point rushing TD is worth two points but a two point passing conversion = 1 pt to receiver and 1 pt to passer.

If we gave 6 points to the defense it would jack the draft value of defenses way higher than it should be. Defenses score plenty of points already.

All of these point values have been used the last 3 years and they were all up for discussion/debate prior to the season with no input.

Noticed that Deshaun Jackson didn't get any points for his TD. Is that suppose to happen? Never seen a league give a guy nothing in that situation.

This league gives nothing to individual players on defensive/special teams TD's and has not for 3 years. We are willing to discuss scoring changes every year but again, no negative feedback prior to season.

Check out bottom of screen under Reports>Rules>Bylaws ;

"5.Team defense and Special Teams play is provided to the team defense. Example Steve Smith returns a punt for a touch down. Those points go to the Carolina Defense and not Steve Smith"

Duek set this up and iirc the reasoning was that many punt returners are backups and are not on a lot of fantasy rosters. So touchdowns they scored were viewed as wasted fantasy points for the most part. Giving those points, even at the 4 point level, to the def/st's has given the def/st a good balance with skill position players.

Anyway, it is what it is, too late to make any changes. Scoring is set whether you love it or hate it and has been availble on the site the entire preseason and beyond.

bumping this so people can have a little pre-read....I'll post the latest rules and info over the weekend when I have some time.

I am also open to rule changes from last year and before, but I'm not open to just start changing everything. It has worked quite well in the past, so I'm willing to tune...not totally change! Voting for changes might be a good idea too!

Does the league have the same draft your player .

Then wait while draft backs up 6 spots to let someone redraft the player you drafted.

over and over and over like the last 3 seasons ?

Till it gets so confussion you don't really know who you have or had!

we did have some glitches during the drafts last year that were beyond our control, yes. Can I guarantee those won't happen again, nope....beyond my control. Yes, it was frustrating, but there wasn't really much we could do about it.

This is the only draft out of 8 leagues i'm in that allows owners to stop the draft, back it up and redo their draft picks .

Then its on the owners that follow to refresh their boards in order to get everything straight again.

Some forget ,then the draft stops again and again backs up causing more confusion

The draft i was in last season backed up 6 -7 differnt times

Why can't it be set to NO REDO's ?

agreed as well. I highly recommend that people show up for one of the mocks to figure it out. This system does draft slightly different than yahoo and ESPN etc. Salt and I discussed and for 2010 there will be no backing up unless it is a system issue.

its because the format sucks....as do most. I wish there was an online draft like Fantasyfootballcalculator.com mock drafts. I love it.

The reason for the $20 is twofold, one it gives you a reason to play all the way through the season and two, it gives you a reason to play all the way through the end of the season. Nothing worse than having the guy you are neck and neck with in a playoff race go against a guy that hasn't adjusted his roster since September.

if you REALLY want to make this more effective. Charge for each loss. Thats what we do. Of course, it would be hard to do that on this sort of league.

We charge $2 per transaction and loss.

BTW, when will the divisions and draft spots be solidified?

    • XL has a TD in 3 of his last 4 games. He actually has improved quite a bit as a blocker as well. Aside from him and Coker (who you said is developing) that leaves Mingo who we just shipped off. The other WRs are veterans. JT is also starting to get comfortable in the offense, but his blocking still needs work.  Yeah Tepper pushed for Young but you were hinting at him being a big RAS guy.  I do agree though in we absolutely have to hit on these next few drafts. Our top pick this year HAS to be a franchise cornerstone if we want to get out of this mess…
    • Bad teams are generally thin at most positions and it takes time to build the reserves.  I think Morgan put a lot of stock in Wonnum producing and this has been a big disappointment.  Brown and Shaq's injuries were significant and despite what us fans say, the defense is much better with Shaq on the field.
    • Wallace is still raw won't really know anything until at least next season. I'm going to be brutally honest and say other than Coker who seems to be developing by sheer determination and a chip on his shoulder for going undrafted I've seen very little development from the wide receivers this season. That's one of my biggest issues with Canales and his staff. Really need to see some strong bright spots for the second half of the season. All we know for certain on the subject that is the Young vs Stroud saga is that Tepper pushed for Bryce he told us even well before the draft he spoke to Bryce and informed him he wanted him to be a Panther. Like I said. We have only a small sample size by which to judge Morgan's tendencies in the draft. Have to wait until next year for more answers. But he needs multiple homerun picks in the next two drafts if he's going to be successful here. Even shitty Marty Hurney had some of those.
