Cam Getting Love on Total Access

Favorite line was during one of the intros they said Cam must be amused while RG3 and Luck are being compared to each other Cams stats put him in a class all of his own. Then they were talking about Randall Cunningham and how he was a great running quarterback and then said how statistically, Cam was blowing away Cunningham and Michael Vick. Then put it to the panel if he was an elite quarterback and they said no but he is on his way, just needed to learn a little more and get another weapon.

"Get another weapon"

So you need weapons to be elite? Hmmmm....

That's funny to me.

I was thinking the same thing. Brady is proving that young WRs give you growing pains. Cam having a great report with this group is huge.

Sure we could use a Stud WR. But we are being successful with the cast we have. If we keep winning, and Cam continues to be Cam, this WR group will get the respect they earned. We aren't elite, but we are better than most give us credit for being.

A weapon or two would put Cam over the top in my opinion. Manning had Wayne and Harrison in their primes after all. As for Brady, he was different. He started out as a game manager. The system and defense carried him until he developed into a good QB.

That said, these past 2.5 seasons have taught Cam how to thrive in an offense with limits (other than the run game) and be responsible with his decisions. LaFell isn't dependable, Smitty is old, and Ginn only provides the deep threat (nothing wrong with that since he's outperforming everybody). We need two WRs and a TE in this draft.

Ginn doesn't only provide a deep threat. In a perfect world we would have the receiver corp to be able to flex him in instead of making him an every down guy. For the time being, I will be happy jumping up every time he's able to get up to speed after catching a slant pass because he can take it all the way anytime.
