Man, when Jake was good he was great. I always had hope at the end of the game that he would pull it out, and he would, more often than not. I'm finally starting to let the Arizona debacle hang back further in my mind and resume appreciating Jake for what he was to this organization: heart, fire, and a sheer will to win.

Pretty much how I feel as well. We had a great 5 year run there with Jake. Let's just appreciate the Jake era for what it was. Exhilarating.

Hey, welcome, and good start. Agreeing with me. Looks like you might got the stuff kid.

I see Jake having a wall like the Matrix in his man cave. Capable of watching every game going, or morphing into one huge screen for just one game.

Sitting back in his lazyboy, the one with the slide out cooler full of iced cold beer. Got a couple of fatties ready, and plenty of snacks. Got the Huddle up on the lap top. All systems are go for a Sunday watching football.

6 days a week his is the stereo-typical "Southern Gentlemen" spending time with the wife, kids, and horses. But on Sunday? He's one of us. Only with a better man cave than most.

Too bad he had such a short window. If he could have had a full career. Cam may be playing elsewhere.

Jake was a GOOD QB, not a great but people need to give him more respect. He had TWO triple crown receivers in different years. Smith and Moose. Moose hardly did anything when he left us, so I can't say he made Jake. Smith is a beast but he hasn't been as beastly since Jake left. Jake knew exactly where to put the ball for Smith to go up, it was as much him as Smith. Not to mention the clutch games from Jake, the competitive fire, the raw emotion, the class, and the ability to except blame when it was due (and actually mean it).

He's the perfect example of intangibles, and if we could somehow combine that with Cam's talent, we could have a freak QB.

Talent wise, Jake was avg at best. But, damn that guy had moxy and grit. It was like he just willed us to victory with ridiculous plays at the end of so many games. Whether it was luck of something else, I don't know.

But I will tell you this....he was a QB that you wanted out there didn't by 4 and 2 min to go. We all knew and believed we were winning...and for several of his seasons we did damn near every kind of those times.

That 2003 and 2008 season were magical...at least 2008 was until that last debacle.

Thanks! I've been lurking for years and can contain myself no longer. I love you guys!

We are definitely a mixed bag up in here. This place can be extremely entertaining. If you just have fun, and don't take anything seriously.

Ah hellz, if you have been lurking, I ain't telling you nothing you don't already know.

So, I guess...nevermind.

Jake had to bring us back in games a lot of times due to his fugg ups...you know jake was good for putting us in bad situations...im not saying he wasnt a good QB from time to time but a lot of times he was out there cleaning up the milk he spilled...I loved jake but he is what he is...an avg QB who had guts and got a lot of YAC from smitty and moose...
