The heat is truly on RGKnee

giving RG3 the benefit of the doubt due to injuries and the like.  I think he has talent and ability and I think he'll be a good QB if he can stay healthy... but that's a big if.

i don't think he'll ever be the kind of pro cam is, or that cam can achieve.

I think a lot of his success last year was because the offense they were running fit him perfectly but I dont know that he can run that offense and stay healthy... and D's will adjust and have and it's less effective now, tho not ineffective.

Not an 'if' for me.

I flat out don't think he can do it.

that's fair.  he hasn't shown he can yet.

I hope he can.  I hate seeing players careers marred by injuries.  I also am mistrustful of media claims of how he acts/behaves because they seem to shred certain QBs over others...but on the other hand he was a media darling not long ago so I'm not sure what is going on there...

looking forward to seeing where these last couple classes of QBs go... Just like people were claiming Cam was a one hit wonder this time last year, I think we'll see some of these young guys struggling a bit (relatively) this year bounce back, like Dalton and Cam have.

I never understood all the hype with RG3.  I watched probably 5 or 6 games of his last year and he never once impressed me with his throwing... it was literally just him hitting wide open receivers at the LOS due to the defense being scared to death of the threat of him and Morris running, meanwhile his receivers did all the work and grinded out extra yards making his numbers look a lot better than they should have.  Every once in a while I'd see him take a shot down field, but only when there was blown coverage and no one within 10 yards of his man.

I don't dislike the dude, but I got fuging tired of people making him out to be something he wasn't while at the same time trashing Cam--who is way ahead of Robert in my opinion.

I'm guessing you have a theory on why Andrew Luck got voted AFC Offensive Player of the Week on a week when Newton had a great performance too?

No!!!!  But I will take a stab at it. Could it possible be that it was the same week the media was fawning endlessly over Luck beating Peyton Manning, even thou it was the team and Manning did make quite a spectacular run in the 4th qrter with less than 10 mintues on the clock?

It's Luck we're talking about. Anything he does overshadows the real hard work of other QBs and teams. I thought u knew that by now.

Nice thought.

My Take:  I think it's because Newton plays in the NFC rather than the AFC.

But hey, you may have a point :D

IMO, there is a difference between being "marred by injuries" as you stated and coming into the league with as many injuries as RG III has  had. It seemed throughout his college years, RG has had leg injuries and operations. Don't know if he admitted to the seriously of his leg situation but he was a walking wounded when he was drafted.
