How do I get a wine stain out of my sweater vest?

 

How did I miss this?  I thought you had begun to figure things out about going to games over the years, but Grasshopper has much to learn.  Do what we do, buy a seat to put your coats, jackets, bags, ipads, camera bags, elves on shelves, gloves, extra napkins, change purse, baby tiger, and sweater vests on.  That way they are off the ground so the nastiness of the beer, aka the elixir of the common folk, doesn't get on them and they are within easy reach.  If you do it right, you can even create a nice, level surface to cut the baked brie and set the wine bottles down on during the game.  Plus, it gives you a buffer from that guy that just sat down on your row who smells remarkably like rotten cabbage and gravy.

Instead of appealing to us to make noise, maybe they should address the losers that sit on their ass and complain when real fans stand and yell.

 

Instead of appealing to the fans to make noise, maybe they should make sure they address everything they need to do ON THE FIELD.

Didn't say they aren't working hard ... that's what I want them to concentrate on, though. There have been times I've seen players go crazy waving their arms on the field, trying to get the crowd riled up, and guess what ... they miss their assignments and allow a first down or a score. They need to concentrate on their jobs ... the crowd either will or won't be loud, and their reactions mostly are due to how well the team is doing on the field.

 

It's all I'm saying.

 

Yes ... our fans need to be loud and proud, and for the most part, they are. I read all the time on this board -- have for years -- about the "wine and cheese" crowd and people being told to sit down and shut up, and people even getting kicked out over such.

 

I've been going to games since the Death Valley days ... and up until last year I went to every single home game; never missed one tick of a home game, in fact (health issues put an end to that). I sit in a so-called wine-and-cheese section (135) and I've never seen that happen. Our section, and the surrounding ones, are always up and rowdy. The only time I've seen anyone kicked out because of standing up was in the Cowboys playoff game, when I had security escort four Cowboys fans out because they were standing (one grown woman even in her seat), spilling beer, being obnoxious and physically assaulted me and others around them.

 

I get tired of the same old mostly false stories about how bad our fan base is.

I've seen other people sitting and not cheering wildly, but no one has ever given me a hard time for standing up in front of them and cheering or beating on the seat in front of me...provided they weren't sitting in it at the time. You're supposed to cheer on defense, and after a score or big play, not the entire game, and you're not supposed to do the fuging wave on offense. I've sat all over the stadium and never had a bad experience with an older, more sedate fan. I think some of you just need something to bitch about.

 

FWIW, I don't want to have a stadium like the Jets or the Eagles. I like that people can feel safe bringing their kids to a game. I've been in some scuffles at several games and after it was over and I realized I'd let it come to blows, or close to it, over a football game I wasn't even playing in, I felt really silly, and lucky no one got seriously hurt or thrown out/in jail.

Going to Panther games has always just felt different than other venues I have been to. In many environments people go to the game in order to be part of the atmosphere and to let lose and enjoy the day. Many times it feels like our fans are approaching it like it's a play or comedy show in that the crowd is waiting to respond. It's just different.
